The Minor League Mental Performance Coordinator will support the implementation and development of the New York Mets Mental Performance Program throughout the minor league affiliates and Dominican Republic Academy.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in psychology or a related field.
Post-graduate degree in Sport Psychology or Cognitive Science is preferred.
3+ years of full-time experience in a similar role working with elite athletes.
Demonstrated history of strong leadership and management skills.
Experience conducting mental performance workshops with large groups, teams, and individual players.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Up to date knowledge of latest trends and leading practices in sport psychology and high-performance sport.
A positive personality with a passion for assisting others in achieving their goals.
Previous baseball experience is preferred.
Ability to speak Spanish is preferred.
Must be able to travel domestically and internationally.
Must be able to work unconventional hours.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Support the execution of a mental performance enhancement system designed to create a growth-minded performance environment and maximize the mental performance abilities of New York Mets players across the minor league affiliates and the Dominican Republic Academy.
Oversight and development of the minor league mental performance staff.
Function as the Mental Performance Coach for the AAA/AA affiliate baseball teams.
Develop and deliver engaging mental performance training and education based on team and individual player needs.
Develop mental performance strategies and programs which improve players ability to flourish in the high-pressure environment of professional baseball
Collaborate with Coaches, Player Development Staff, and Performance Staff on player development initiatives.
Routinely collaborate with other areas of the Performance Department to develop solutions that positively impact the performance of New York Mets players.
Provide mental performance profiling at individual and team levels for the purpose of providing targeted interventions.
Develop and create a Mental Performance manual for the New York Mets organization.
