This position will be responsible for maintaining and reporting accurate and timely financial information while managing and supervising staff. The position will be involved extensively in the monthly and quarterly close processes and analytical review of financial statements. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Manage the monthly and quarterly close processes of various reporting entities to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
Perform monthly account analyses and reconciliations, including investigation and resolution of all errors.
Review and approve staff journal entries.
Review monthly bank reconciliations.
Assist with reporting to Major League Baseball and various governmental agencies.
Assist in the accounting department budget and reforecasting processes.
Assist with annual audit requirements.
Assist with special projects as needed.
Manage escheatment process.
Bachelor’s Degree in accounting and 5-7 years of accounting experience. CPA preferred.
Working understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong analytical, organizational and multi-tasking skills with attention to detail.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience with Workday ERP is a plus.
