The Assistant, Event Operations will provide event support to Logistics Manager, Mets Events, by sharing in the responsibilities noted below.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist in planning and executing non-gameday events from start to finish.

  • Assist in handling client’s needs leading up to and on event date.

  • Coordinate load-in/load-out, timeline, access, setup and breakdown for events.

  • Create custom layouts/floorplans for events using online program.

  • Work with event vendors during set-up and break-down of events, and handle insurance documents, waivers, and vendor agreements.

  • Assist in overseeing all part-time Event Crew (moving staff) shifts and create task lists for them to accomplish.

  • Assist with typing, organizing, and sending event documents (Event Notes, Post Event Notes, Contracts, Daily Updates, Floorplans, Maps, etc.)

  • Coordinate event specifics with internal departments (Security, Cleaning, Ballpark Operations, Parking, Electricians, Engineers, IT, ARAMARK, etc.).

  • Arrange and lead tours of event spaces for vendors and clients.

  • Ensure that all spaces are restored to original layout following events and report any incidences of damage that may have occurred.

  • Assist in hiring and managing part-time Event Crew for events.

  • Assist in overseeing relationship with furniture rental companies, place orders for furniture needs, and maintain knowledge of trending and essential items.

  • Gather, submit, and record all post event invoices and ensure we are sticking to budget.

  • Maintain furniture inventory of all event spaces.

  • Maintain Mets Events storage, inventory, and event supplies.

  • Able to perform manual labor, which may include carrying boxes, pushing, loading, and unloading hand trucks, setting-up directional signage, moving furniture, etc.

  • Other duties as assigned to assist with the continued growth of Mets Events and the entire New York Mets organization.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.

  • 1-2 years of hospitality experience preferred.

  • Professional demeanor and excellent verbal and written communication skills required.

  • Must be a creative, detail-oriented, passionate “People Person” capable of working on multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Must be able to manage a team and be authoritative.

  • Must be able to work in high pressure situations and handle new assignments with short notice.

  • Experience working in a project-based environment with emphasis on meeting deadlines.

  • Must be able to work set-up and breakdown of all Mets Events events through the year as required including nights, weekends, and holidays.

  • Knowledge of Photoshop or floorplan software/program is preferred.

Salary Range:

$39,826.24 - $53,101.65
