We are seeking talented students who are interested in paid internship opportunities within the New York Mets’ front office. Ideal candidates have a long-term goal of working in professional sports. The Internship Program is designed for qualified students who are entering their Junior or Senior year of college (recent graduates and graduate students may also apply). The Interns selected will make a significant contribution to the organization during the 2023 season. In addition to your department, you will be able to explore other aspects of the business through joint projects, participation in lunch & learns, and various networking events.
The internship will run for the duration of the 2023 MLB Season
Candidates must be fully available for the duration of the internship.
Work location will be on-site at Citi Field, Flushing, NY 11368.
Please note game day and special event responsibilities include late nights and weekends.
If you are selected to participate in the interview process, the first round will include a digital interview.
The New York Mets will not be providing housing for the internship.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Photograph Mets game action, fans and Citi Field to capture the ballpark experience in creative and compelling images
Photograph non-baseball events at and away from the ballpark including: Community Engagement activities, concerts, clinics, pre-/post-game activities, client hospitality, athlete and staff portraits
Photo archive maintenance: edit, keyword, upload and organize photos taken by Photography staff on Mets Photodrive server as well as on asset management platform used company-wide
Fulfill internal and external photo requests for ads, publications, decks, social posts, etc.
Proficiency in using DSLR cameras and other professional camera equipment
Experience using Adobe Photoshop, Bridge, Lightroom and/or Photo Mechanic
Some knowledge of Major League Baseball rules, history and players.
Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environment.
Must be able to work and interact well with others (fellow interns, executives, front office staff, athletes, fans, corporate clients, etc.).
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Solid computer skills, with an emphasis on Microsoft Office (Excel/Word).
Must be available to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
