Provide event set-up/manual labor assistance to Coordinator, Event Operations for non-baseball events at Citi Field including social events (Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, weddings, holiday parties), corporate events (trade shows, meetings), and large-scale events (concerts, field events, festivals), etc. This is an on-call/part-time position. The amount of hours offered per week will depend on the number of events scheduled and the needs.

Pay Rate:

$19/hr

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Set up predetermined layouts prior to events, breakdown layouts following events and restore event spaces to standard layouts in various locations around Citi Field

  • Transport all equipment, furnishings, deliveries, and supplies prior to and following events, often utilizing handtrucks and carts

  • Protect all furniture during moves around the ballpark to ensure damage does not occur

  • Organize furniture storage in a neat and presentable manner

  • Professionally represent Mets Events during shifts including communicating with vendors, event clients, and ballpark staff

  • Assist Mets Events members during non-baseball events including tasks like guest and vendor check-in, guest wrist-banding, directional assistance, etc.

  • Other event duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma required

  • Able to work flexible hours, including early morning, nights, and weekends

  • Must be able to regularly lift and move furniture (ex. tables, couches) weighing a minimum of 50 lbs

  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and walk lengthy distances

  • Professional demeanor, strong work ethic, and motivation to complete the job correctly

  • Team-oriented and able to follow directions in a timely manner

  • Ability to interpret and execute predetermined layouts and read check lists for events

  • Ability to balance responsibilities for multiple events simultaneously

  • Ability to speak Spanish is a plus but not required
