The role of the Manager Content Production Operations is to identify opportunities to maximize efficiency throughout the Content team through tools, process and people. This includes managing content projects end to end with the video and social teams and their associated workflows. S/he ensures that requests are organized, priorities assessed and reassessed, deadlines met and expectations exceeded. Responsibilities to constantly document and monitor project progress, to report on all activity, and to warn of at-risk deadlines. A successful Production Manager will improve performance outcomes by partnering with key leaders and business stakeholders.
What will you do?
Manage the schedule and workload of multiple content creators across all of MSG Sports Brands (Knicks, Rangers, Knicks City Dancers, Westchester Knicks and KNX Gaming)
Assist the Director Creative Operations in identifying areas of opportunity to increase efficiency and offer practical solutions that are measurable
Manage intake of project requests, ensure goals and objectives align with business needs.
Create detailed plan (milestones and tasks, dependencies, risks, key meetings, approvers) for the team (based upon agreed time estimates)
Assign tasks and deadlines, allocating resources as needed to operate at capacity as well as develop and maintain a realistic schedule.
Responsible for all documentation of projects utilizing workflow tools.
Ongoing development of Airtable project management tool
Track progress against plan, ensuring that timelines and deliverables are met and escalated/adjusted, if at risk.
Conduct weekly job status meetings to gather and share information with the team
Air traffic control and prioritize requests
Ensure creative briefs are created on complex projects and feedback is documented and understood by all parties.
Review change requests and respond with schedule/cost impacts along with alternatives.
What do you need to succeed?
5+ years in a creative project management / production manager role either at an agency or in-house
A strong understanding of the video content production process from pre-production to final delivery
A basic understanding of the social media landscape
A basic understanding of video and audio gear needed for projects
Project management certification preferred (College degree and/or 60 credits related to PMO)
Previous experience using Airtable software a plus. Previous experience using a comparable project management tool required.
Understanding of budget implications, cost of work to be done
Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with employees across departmental lines and seniority, as well as with external resources
Experience managing digital projects
Ability to prioritize and multi-task across multiple concurrent projects
