The New York Islanders Hockey Club is one of the most iconic franchises in professional sports, with a deeply passionate and loyal fanbase. The 2022-23 season marks the 50th Anniversary of Islanders hockey, and we are commemorating our history to propel us forward. Isles Nation celebrates four consecutive Stanley Cups in the 1980s, numerous all-stars and hall of famers, a state-of-the-art arena, millions raised for charities in our communities, and much more. We will add on to that legacy with the help of our diverse team that embodies what it means to be a part of the Blue & Orange.

How to Make the Team

Our Interns are motivated and enthusiastic. In this role, you will gain experience and learn essential industry skills by assisting our team with various accounting and finance task including, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and other projects for our management team. Your work will help prepare our records for monthly and annual financial statement reporting. As an Accounting Intern, you will also post journal entries to the general ledger, perform administrative duties, such as data entry and filing and do research if necessary. You may work with multiple entities including New York Islanders, Bridgeport Islanders, Islanders Ice works, Islanders Children’s Foundation and Northwell Health Ice Center. No experience is necessary, but you must be proficient with basic computer programs and willing to learn.

Your Equipment

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an accredited college program studying Accounting, Finance, and/or Analytics

  • Awareness of and interest in the latest accounting guidance, pronouncements and emerging trends shaping professional sports

  • Excellent writing and research skills

  • Microsoft Office skills

Where You will Go

You will primarily be working remotely. Otherwise, you will report to our Floral Park, NY office.
