POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Manager, F&B Partnerships & Operations will lead the New Jersey Devils and Prudential Center in our goal of becoming the most partner-friendly building in the world, while also bringing targeted, exciting experiential marketing platforms to our partners. The Manager’s responsibilities are directly related to the management and general business operations of the New Jersey Devils and Prudential Center, as he or she will build and cultivate long-term relationships and demonstrate an ability to think broadly and strategically to offer and fulfill integrated business solutions to our clients as well as our arena concessionaire (currently Legends Hospitality).

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Managing and fulfilling accounts for team and arena F&B partners with a focus on those partners with supplier status in the arena; Developing and enhancing corporate relationships by exceeding and managing the expectations of all contractual elements and providing opportunities for added value.

  • Creating and presenting targeted and customized ideas and opportunities to help grow the arena F&B business of each corporate partner by keeping current with goals, objectives and the competitive corporate landscape in the market;

  • Planning, coordinating and executing sponsor events, including promotions, hospitality, community programs, media, and signage;

  • Monitoring program effectiveness against partner objectives and KPIs;

  • Maintaining partner deliverables, as well as significant contract items, i.e. termination rights, purchase obligations, etc. in Kore

  • Creating sponsorship proposals, recaps and renewals, with focus on sponsorship performance and renewal/upsell opportunities;

  • Serving as the day-to-day point of contact and quality control representative between DAE and the arena concessionaire (currently Legends Hospitality), which shall include:

  • Internal point of contact for all organizational needs regarding F&B and the arena concessionaire.

  • Ensuring cooperative workplace environment by working side-by-side with the arena concessionaire; reinforce DAE initiatives, values and best practices; provide on-going constructive feedback.

  • Overseeing overall look, feel and general operations of the arena concession stands, portable bars, and portable stands; Work in conjunction with the VP, Partnerships and arena concessionaire General Manager to prioritize areas needing attention and/or corrective action.

  • Conduct comprehensive walk throughs for every event with written documentation with areas that need to be corrected (maintenance / clean-up / branding) and follow up to make sure the work is complete).

  • Supporting senior leaders by diagnosing pain points and scoping and implementing improvement initiatives;

  • Partnering with department colleagues to maximize the current technology to identify insights and metrics/benchmarks all in an effort to improve;

  • Serving as the internal liaison between the corporate partnerships department (new business, solutions and activation) with our arena concessionaire to assist with communication at every part of the deal process from ideation to pitch to activation;

  • Attending all home games and other events to host sponsors and manage the execution of in-arena promotions as well as occasional departmental receptions or functions;

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 3-5 years’ experience of partnership/sponsorship activity

  • Understanding of, and experience with, arena F&B operations

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Must be creative, strategic, highly organized with strong project management skills

  • Superior customer service

  • Experience in sports and entertainment preferred

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Travel Requirements: May be required to travel on rare occasions (<5% travel); trips may require air travel and/or overnight stay for one or more nights.

  • Physical Demands: This position requires the ability to lift up to 25 pounds.

  • Work Environment: This position generally requires that work be performed from the Prudential Center/New Jersey Devils offices, but attendance at events taking place in the arena or offsite, including on weekends and/or holidays, may be required.
