OVERVEIW

Provide day-to-day support for the Events & Entertainment department, focusing on both in-office and on-site duties related to the entertainment elements of NHL tentpole events for the 2022-2023 winter season. This temporary position will begin November 2022 and conclude in March 2023. While this position is based out of the NHL's NYC office, it will require travel within the United States.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Support the Events & Entertainment team in-office and on-site at tentpole events

  • Conduct research to develop new and creative entertainment programming concepts

  • Assist with administrative duties such as scheduling meetings and calls, taking comprehensive notes during meetings, developing agendas, managing production schedules, and organizing team members

  • Assist Production Manager with all operational items related to tentpole events such as contracting, completing department order forms, managing travel requests, budgeting, and invoice processing

  • Assist Producer with preparing and distributing event documents including event timing sheets, rundowns, scripts, and broadcast overviews

  • Act as liaison between production company and Events & Entertainment team for all administrative/operational items

  • On-site support with talent management, prop procurement, outfitting and ticket distribution

  • Provide administrative and organization support to senior NHL staff

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 1-2 years of experience in live events, preferably in the sports & entertainment industry

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to work effectively in a publicly visible, high pressure, and deadline-oriented environment

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize assignments covering multiple projects at once

  • Candidate should be a team player and maintain a positive attitude within the department as well as with vendors, fans, and other external parties

  • Awareness of social media trends and current events

  • Ability to work long hours, including weekends and holidays, as well as travel to host event cities within the United States

  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point

  • A positive, energetic attitude

  • Hockey knowledge a plus

  • English, excellent written and verbal communication skills required

  • Must be self-motivated and exhibit analytical and problem-solving skills
