OVERVIEW The Manager of Finance position, reporting to the Sr. Manager, will be responsible for overseeing the following financial tasks associated with the Tentpole Events businesses of the National Hockey League.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

The manager will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Assist in maintaining the operating P&L files, including but not limited to ensuring the current projections and actuals are updated timely and accurately.

  • Record ticket revenues by coordinating with the Events ticketing team to reconcile revenues and cash to the manifest, identifying the applicable sales tax and reconciling applicable service fees.

  • Assist in managing expenses by working with business groups and tracking expenses on a real-time basis to ensure costs adhere to the approved budgeted amount(s).

  • Review and approval of invoice requests; ensure accuracy of invoice, adequate support is included and if necessary, reconcile support to invoice amount

  • Responsible for ensuring a timely and accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial close; including accruals, recurring journal entries, reconciliations and variance explanations.

  • Establish and manage relationships with both internal departments and external vendors

  • Review Operating files and invoice requests for validity and accuracy.

  • Provide support to external auditors as requested.

  • Build comprehensive models to analyze opportunities.

  • Special projects/other miscellaneous and departmental related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Accounting or finance degree from a four-year college or university, preferred.

  • 4+ years of relevant work experience

  • Experience with Canadian HST is a plus

  • Strong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills

  • Disciplined, organized and detail oriented with a commitment to accuracy in all tasks

  • Ability to multi-task and handle inquiries from numerous constituents

  • Proficient in MS Excel (Pivot Tables, SumIf formulas, Vlookup, etc.)

Salary Range for this role is $90K to $110K
