The Sr. Manager of Technical Operations will have a solid working knowledge of control room production, transmission operations and cloud-based master control operations and workflows. Candidate should have a strong technical operations and engineering background to ensure all technical facility requirements are met. Needs to work with technical operations and engineering management to resolve all technical and operational issues.


  • Manages daily activities for groups implementing technical production activities for the NFL Media Group.

  • Is a working day of air supervisor that manages Inglewood technical operations that include transmission, reception, and quality control of NFL content. To report and efficiently troubleshoot and resolve issues.

  • Translates approved objectives into work plans and procedures.

  • Works with technical operations and engineering management to identify and implement SOP’s intended to ensure facility personnel work and communicate efficiently to support production objectives.

  • Integrates the use of new technologies and procedures into the technical operations area.

  • Must work closely with VP of Technical Operations and the master control team to develop, evaluate and implement a cloud-based master control origination and distribution strategy.

  • Must work with the Remote Operations team to provide proper oversight of master transmission plans for NFL Media live events including, but not limited to the NFL Draft, The NFL Networks Games Package, Super Bowl Week, The Combine, Hall of Fame Enshrinement and Game, HBCU, East West Shrine and Senior Bowl Games.

  • Needs to work with News management to coordinate and support Inside Training Camp, Back Together Saturday, Pre-Season, weekly Regular Season and Playoff coverage across all NFL Media platforms.

  • Work collaboratively with NFL Production, Studio Operations, NFL Films, Encompass Master Control, NFL DM Streaming team and selected NFL vendors to ensure all show and content objectives are met.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years overall broadcast operations experience in a major market, national network, or large-scale cable/satellite provider.

  • Strong background in television studio and remote production required.

  • Strong understanding of fiber, IP and satellite signal paths required.

  • Intimate knowledge of the individual roles and responsibilities for each member of the Technical Operations team (i.e. TOC, Ingest, Audio, Video, Technical Director, EVS and Playback, etc.) Master control management experience preferred.

  • Hands-on and/or working knowledge of systems/equipment used in functions identified above, including SMPTE 2110, HD SDI, ASI, various video and audio formats and the monitoring equipment used to QC incoming and outgoing feeds.

  • Must have experience in developing cloud based workflows for network origination and distribution

Terms / Expected Hours of Work

  • NFL employees are required to work 40 hours per week.

  • Early mornings, late nights, weekends, holidays
