NFL Media comprises of NFL’s owned and operated media properties (O&O) including the NFL Network (pay television network),, NFL Mobile, NFL Now and NFL RedZone. Dedicated to American football, content on NFL Media features game telecasts from the NFL, as well as NFL-related analysis programs, specials, podcasts, and documentaries. NFL Media is headquartered in the NFL Los Angeles building located next to SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.

The NFL Media Business Operations Group is seeking a Senior Manager of Business Operations. This role will be responsible for managing two main scopes of work:

  1. Business Development Operations: managing NFL Media’s obligations with the NFL’s key traditional and digital media partnerships; and

  2. NFL Media Portfolio Planning: creating and maintaining a portfolio view of NFL Media’s key projects for the LA GM’s Leadership Team in order to drive alignment of strategic priorities and optimize resources.

This is an exciting opportunity to be in a leadership role at the NFL across a broad range of traditional and digital media channels. This role requires a strong leader who can combine a solid understanding of the overall media and digital media space with a comprehensive foundation in Business Development, Business Operations and Portfolio Management.


  • Liaison - Between NFL Business Development Strategy Team in NY (“BD Team”) and NFL Digital Media Product & Technology Teams in LA (“DM Team”):

    • Advise DM Team Stakeholders of Obligations: Areas of focus include wireless app development, third party live game streaming rights, interactivity, fantasy and gaming, augmented viewing, broadcast partner digital.

    • Cross-Functionally Manage Multiple Stakeholders: Coordinate across internal content teams, BD Team and partners on content and product development processes.

    • Advocate: represent the business point of view in relevant operational decisions making.

    • Escalate Issues: synthesize and escalate key issues as needed re: implementation of NFL Media obligations from DM Team to BD Team and NFL Partners or vice versa.

  • Obligation & Requirements Management

    • Maintain NFL Media Obligations: maintain understanding and implementation of business requirements and obligations in content distribution deals negotiated by BD Team.

    • Ensure Obligations are Met: ensure NFL Media meeting implementation obligations and requirements to partners and ensure partners adhere to contractual obligations to NFL

    • Reporting: Work with internal and external analytics teams to ensure timely delivery of consumption data and share reports to benchmark /track against business KPIs.

    • Process Improvement: Work with Business Operations and Project Management to develop processes and increase efficiency of planning and executing business requests and other internal initiatives.

  • Portfolio Planning:

    • Create and maintain portfolio view and process to report out on key NFL Media projects by building relationships with NFL Media executives to collect status updates and assess risks with meeting milestones. This information will be presented and reviewed monthly at the NFL LA GM’s Leadership Team meeting.

    • Work across key stakeholders and leads to identify areas to enhance alignment and optimize information sharing, working closely with Finance

    • Participate in the annual planning process, driving key workstreams and supporting overall process alignment

Required Qualifications

  • 5 to 7-year Media Business Development Operations and/or Portfolio Planning experience preferably in a linear and digital media space.

  • BSc/BA diploma in management or a relevant field. MBA or JD a plus.

  • Experience managing a team and collaboratively working on multiple projects.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Media Knowledge/Experience: Have a strong understanding of media trends, evolution of platforms/consumption and understand the business dynamics/models of media properties. Understand media rights and obligations in contracts and experience working with legal professionals. Understand media rights and how it pertains to sports and entertainment across linear and digital platforms.

  • Digital Technology Knowledge/Experience: Fluency with digital product development, operations, and content distribution.

  • Portfolio Management Experience: Ability to build and maintain a portfolio view of key workstreams across a matrixed organization and building relationships with key stakeholders to collect key status updates and assess and escalate risks.

  • Effective Communicator and Presenter: Ability to communicate orally and in writing in a clear and straightforward manner to multiple stakeholders. Effective presentation creation abilities (Power point presentations, Portfolio views, trackers, strategy decks, status updates etc.). Ability to synthesize technical and business concepts to layman terms and visualize in a simple way.

  • Relationship Builder: Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships and establish credibility quickly to effectively interface at all levels in a complex matrix organization. Ability to motivate, influence and collaborate with others.

  • Planner and Executor: Ability to go high (strategic) and low (tactical) in planning and execution. Effective time manager who can consistently meet deadlines. Strong organizational skills with the ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects.

Physical Demands

  • Will require less than 10% travel.

  • Quarterly travel to NFL NY office to meet and align with stakeholders and partners.

  • Occasional travel to NFL tentpole events (Combine, Draft, Kickoff, Super Bowl etc.).

Terms / Expected Hours of Work

  • 40 hours per week, additional hours as needed.

  • Will be required to be in NFL office in Inglewood, CA at least 4-days a week.
