Seeking a media delivery specialist for a 7-month seasonal position at NFL Films, a world-class professional sports media company and producer of Emmy Award-winning series such as HBO NFL Hard Knocks, NFL Films Presents, ESPN Match Up, and Paramount Inside the NFL. The media delivery specialist will be responsible for the handling, compression and final transmission of some of the file-based content that NFL Films produces from our 200,000 square-foot facility and studios in Mt. Laurel, NJ. The finished spots, shows and media content will require transcoding to specific digital media file formats and then delivering through file transfer platforms to production managers, external broadcast and media partners and clients in a timely fashion.
The specialist is primarily responsible for receiving and fulfilling work orders for daily and weekly scheduled media compressions and deliveries. Work orders will specify timetables, source files, compression settings or preset settings, delivery destinations and notifications.
The specialist will be required to recognize, troubleshoot and correct media file issues such as incorrect trimming, audio channel mixing, interlacing and pulldown errors, and compression errors in the final product. They will need to analyze media files for compliance within various technical specifications and evaluate overall picture and sound quality.
They will also occasionally collaborate with project managers and schedulers to help determine and select appropriate compressions and delivery methods.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor's level degree or equivalent professional experience in media or communications and greater than two years in a digital media and communications field.
Proficient with compressing a wide range of media file types within Adobe Media Encoder, Premiere and Adobe Creative Cloud or similar media encoding tools.
Proficient with handling very large media files through enterprise-level storage systems. Able to efficiently navigate through very large file storage volumes across multiple operating systems and software.
Preferred Education and Experience
The applicant should have a thorough understanding of video and audio codecs, media file standards and specifications.
They should be comfortable working with and creating digital media file types such as h.264, Apple Quicktime and ProRes 422, MPEG, etc, and have an understanding of frame rates, data rates, caption streams and audio configurations.
Experience with enterprise level compression and media processing platforms such as Telestream Vantage Encoder is not necessary but preferred.
Familiarity with working with large file delivery services and platforms such as Signiant’s Media Transfer, Aspera, and Frame.io. is preferred.
Experience with media asset management ( M.A.M ) software applications such as CatDV is helpful.
An understanding of or experience with editing and post-production software systems and processes is helpful.

The candidate should be very detail-oriented -- they will be analyzing and delivering final media files that should meet our outside partners’ and clients’ technical specifications.
They should be able to work both collaboratively within our departmental and within our greater organization but also be able to work independently and unsupervised.
The candidate should be comfortable communicating by email, voice and in person.
They will need to be flexible and agile while prioritizing and executing many unique projects daily.

Expected Hours of Work
Position will require 40 hours per week. Afternoons and nights are required with occasional weekend and holiday coverage. Position is non-exempt.
Term of employment will be a 7-month position beginning August 1, 2022 through February 2023.
