The NFL Creative LA team is seeking a mid-level Designer Animator with an insatiable passion for our sport and an acute knowledge of our game and the 32 NFL Clubs. Our world-class creative department acts as an ambassador of the most valuable sports/media brands in the world including the NFL league itself, our NFL tentpole events (Draft, Pro Bowl, Super Bowl, etc.), and our 32 NFL clubs. We eat, sleep and breath the LIVE football experience, as well as nurture our media brands through the off-season. We uphold the NFL content/media brand portfolio across all linear/digital platforms and products including NFL Network, NFL.com, NFL Apps, NFL social channels, partner platforms, and more. Our entire existence is dedicated to elevating the NFL fan experience through supercharged media, content, storytelling, and community campaigns.

Summary

The Designer Animator is a seasoned, original, clever brand ID / graphic designer that can design strong brand identity systems, tell imaginative brand stories, and create thoughtful, world-class style guides, pitch decks, and presentations. This unique role serves as a universal design resource that works on a variety of internal and public projects and elevates media brands across channels including NFL Network Shows, NFL+, NFL owned & operated channels, Features & Original Content, League-wide initiatives, internal projects, and more. The Designer/Animator reports directly to the VP of Creative and integrates with a variety of Art Directors and Producers as needed.

Essential Functions

  • Develop world-class, thoughtful brand books, style guides, pitch desks and presentations.

  • Design culture-building artifacts for various NFL departments & initiatives (swag, awards, etc.)

  • Environmental design for NFL LA facility (signage, installations, stage décor, wayfinding, etc.)

  • Rapid idea generation for broad NFL initiatives including sketching, storyboarding, and mockups

  • Collaborate with other designers and Art Directors to concept on-air and VOD graphics packages and templates

Required Education and Experience

  • College Graduate or comparable experience in graphic design or visual communication (Prodigies, virtuosos, or self-taught masters welcome)

  • 3+ years working in a professional design environment

  • 2+ years experience working with major commercial brands

  • Logo/brand identity design

  • Advanced design sensibility in graphics design, typography and information design

  • Experience working with or creating brand voice, tone and personality

  • Proficient knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Keynote

  • Awareness of brand hierarchy and broad brand equity (i.e. NFL)

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Design experience in sports, entertainment, media industries a plus

  • Additional proficiency in Figma and video/motion tools including After Effects

Salary / Pay Range

This job posting contains a pay range, which represents the range of salaries or hourly rates that the NFL believes, in good faith, at the time of this posting that it might be willing to pay for the posted job. The NFL expects to hire for this position near the middle of the range. Only in truly rare and exceptional circumstances, where an external candidate has experience, credentials or expertise that far exceed those required or expected for the position, would the NFL consider paying a salary or rate near the higher end of the range.

Terms/Expected Hours of Work:

  • Less than 29 hours/week

  • Holidays & Weekends as needed
