This position will work with both the Manager and Director of Communications to develop and implement communications strategies for key NFL business units, including but not limited to NFL social responsibility, community relations, NFL Foundation; diversity, equity, and inclusion; and Inspire Change.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a contact with media to help drive placements in high-profile and local outlets.

  • Work with partners, affiliates, vendors, NFL clubs, League executives, and other external outlets as needed.

  • Help plan and execute press conferences, media availability, releases and story placement at community events and activations throughout the year and at our major tentpole events (Super Bowl, Draft, Kickoff and Pro Bowl, etc.).

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related field and up to 1-3 years of communications experience drawing from multiple disciplines that could include media relations, government relations, cause marketing and CSR, events, advertising, OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Knowledge of the PR field including media relations, executive/talent preparation, media training, storytelling and story placement, and event coordination.

  • Ability to participate in and support cross-departmental activities in public relations and community relations.

  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills and strong multi-tasking skills.

  • Ability to proactively identify and promote programs, employing cutting edge communications tools and strategies.

  • Knowledge of the PR field including experience developing communications plans.

  • Anticipates next steps and sets high standards in all they do.

  • Intellectual curiosity and a proven track record delivering high-quality work.

Travel

  • This position could require minimal travel during season/pre-season, including on weekends

Salary / Pay Range

The NFL expects to hire for this position near the middle of the range. Only in truly rare and exceptional circumstances, where an external candidate has experience, credentials or expertise that far exceed those required or expected for the position, would the NFL consider paying a salary or rate near the higher end of the range.

Terms / Expected Hours of Work

  • NFL employees are required to work 40 hours per week

  • Will require frequent work on nights, weekends, and holidays

  • FLSA exempt
