The NFL Technical Operations team is hosting a Technical Operations Training Camp to expose interested participants to the working aspects and potential career opportunities available within various technical operation jobs at NFL Media. Participants will receive introductory hands-on training from experienced National Football League professionals in media and television environments within our Control Rooms, including Technical Director, Viz Graphics, Audio, EVS/Playout, the Technical Operations Center, Ingest, Post-Production, Studio, and Engineering.
The program will run for two weeks, from June 5 – June 16, 2023. Participants will be required to work five (5) full days (approximately 40 hours) per week, Monday through Friday and will be paid an hourly rate for their work.
Participants will be responsible for their own housing and transportation to the NFL Media office in Inglewood, CA during the program.
Essential Functions:
EVS/Playout: Responsible for organizing, editing, building playlist, and playing all non-live camera video.
Post-Production: Edit content using Adobe Premiere Pro to turn around cuts quickly.
Ingest: Records multiple baseband feeds into EVS ingest servers within a fast-paced live broadcast environment.
TOC: Primary tasks include routing signals and checking video/audio for clean signals.
Viz Graphics: Set up and play out all graphic elements that are integrated into pre-recorded and live programming.
Audio: Mixing all the audio sources/playback sound on tape.
Technical Director: Switches video sources, perform live digital effects and transitions, inserts pre-recorded material and graphics as instructed.
Studio: Oversee the workflow and communication of day-to-day live television. Manages multiple productions, coordinating with a variety of internal departments to handle any issues that arise in relation to technical staff and crew.
Engineering: Deal with the production and distribution of media which involves design, construction, implementation, and support for all facets of a broadcast facility and remote operations.
Qualifications:
Interest in the Sports, Entertainment and/or Media industries is a plus.
Strong organizational skills
Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Strong work ethic and time management skills
Applicants must be legally permitted to work in the United States and international students must have all visas and employment authorizations prior to the start of the program

Rising Undergraduate Senior – graduating Summer 2022/Fall 2022/Spring 2023
Graduate Student
Preferred Major and Coursework: Engineering, Communications, Business Administration, Television and/or Broadcast or a related field or related fields
Program Benefits:
Participants will be paired with members of the business to help guide their experience and will receive a letter confirming their participation upon completion of the program. During the first week of the program, participants will be introduced to the various technical and operations positions. The second week will focus on more in depth learning and hands-on training in the participants area of interest. To conclude the program, participants will use all the knowledge and training to successfully execute “live to tape” segments.
