Position Summary:

As an Engineer, you will be responsible for the planning, building, testing, and deployment of entirely new NBA products across the Android eco-system (Android, Android TV, Android Google Wear OS, Fire TV and Android Auto). You possess strong technical aptitude, have experience building for Android platforms, and wish to further your expertise in software design and architecture. Major Responsibility:

  • Contribute Kotlin code with responsibility for major product features

  • Create iterative and approachable code commits and well-documented pull requests

  • Own workflow processes, automations, and integrations

  • Leverage standard Android development workflows: Google playstore, App signing, Android Studio Design, implement, and maintain appropriate unit, UI, and integration tests

  • Perform constructive code reviews and collaborate in larger architecture and design discussions

  • Manage workload and organization using Agile methodology and project ticketing tools

  • Keeps abreast of technology evolution and emerging trends. i.e. Google IO events

  • Mentor the junior engineers in the team

  • Capable of on-boarding new hires or members outside the team to the team's technology stack

  • Builds relationships outside the direct team, including with business stakeholders

Required Skills/Knowledge:

  • 3+ year experience in developing software for Android platforms

  • Fluency in Kotlin, Android Architecture components, Java Foundation and Standard libraries

  • Knowledgeable of prevailing platform patterns, designs, idioms and a desire to respectfully debate their merits and tradeoffs

  • Proficiency with standard workflow tooling for source management and CI/CD

  • Experience with Agile development philosophies and practices

  • Understanding of the role asynchronous code plays in modern application architectures Interest in specific domains for sports and live-sport-event technologies: Video streaming, low-latency networking strategies, etc.


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (internships and personal projects in Play-store or open-source contributions are all valid for experience consideration).


  • Salary Range: $140,000 to $177,500 per year
