Position Summary: This position be responsible for creating & editing written content, as well as supporting content publishing on the NBA App & NBA.com

Major Responsibility:

  • You're a skilled copyeditor who can accurately & quickly adjust copy for a story, push notification, email message, headline, etc., within a digital environment that needs to account for different platforms & device types

  • Serve as QA for editorial content published by NBA Content Publishing team

  • Works together with Warner Media Newsdesk to align on copyediting guidelines and NBA style

  • Develop copy used to promote digital initiatives from @NBA social platforms, including driving awareness of the NBA App, League Pass, where to watch games, etc.

  • Identify elements and potential storylines from NBA live games and tentpole events throughout the season from the NBA's Content Command Center (This will include nights and weekends)

  • Creating content targeted for NBA digital platforms (websites and apps) including video, photo and graphics editing, and written content

  • Experience with mobile fan engagement and storytelling that drives mobile consumption

  • Passion for curating and publishing video, photo, statistical, and editorial content that also works in tandem with a strong alerts strategy, optimized for open rate and active user engagement.

Required Skills/Knowledge:

  • 1-2 years experience

  • Must have editorial experience (on a newsdesk, part of a media brand/team, etc.)

  • Must have a passion for storytelling and a great sense of the sports media ecosystem

  • Skilled in AP Style Strong writing and communication skills, as well as ability to execute editorial judgment

  • Deeply knowledgeable and passionate about the NBA and their players, coaches, and teams

  • Knowledge of basketball analytics and the rules of the game

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of digital platforms, including the NBA App, NBA.com and NBA League Pass

  • Strong knowledge & understanding of social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, Snapchat and Tik Tok

  • Background in digital, social, photos and graphics production/editing or video content production is a plus

  • Basic knowledge of HTML and Content Management Systems

  • Basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, including Premiere, Photoshop and After Effects a plus

  • Ability and willingness to work on deadline and handle multiple tasks at once with a precise and detail-oriented approach

  • Ability and willingness to work both independently and as part of a team

Education: Bachelor's degree in Digital Media, Communications or related field preferred
