Position Summary: The HR Operations Lead will manage onboarding operations excellence and HR operations compliance. The HR Operations Lead is responsible for managing onboarding operations, HR records administration, auditing processes and ensuring adherence to internal and external compliance guidelines including, but not limited to, data retention policies, GDPR and PIPL of the People's Republic of China. Additionally, this individual will be responsible for driving continuous process improvement in support of our HR Centers of Excellence.

Major Responsibility:

  • Compliance Liaise with key stakeholders including Legal, Employee Relations, Risk Management and Cyber Security teams to ensure HR operations compliance with applicable HR-related legal/regulatory and compliance programs including, but limited to, consumer reports and background checks, data retention policies and data privacy legislation (ex. GDPR and PIPL)

  • Manage risk by staying abreast of critical employee-related legislative and regulatory changes and/or developments that impact onboarding operations and communicate findings to key stakeholders

  • Ensure changes to rules and regulations are incorporated and documented in HR operations processes, protocols and practices

  • Develop practices and protocols that help mitigate risk

  • Lead and participate in audits to ensure data integrity and compliance

  • Manage Supervise, coach and provide direction to HR operations team members ensuring operational excellence and compliance in onboarding and HR records administration

  • Foster a spirit of collaboration, innovation, fairness and trust

  • Encourage problem solving, issue resolution and personal accountability

  • Ensure integrity of our processes by leveraging dashboards and analytics tools to measure, monitor and audit onboarding processes and procedures including system onboarding, background checks, work authorizations and HR records management

  • Optimize processes via automation and technology

  • Streamline and improve HR operations processes to enable scale, increase efficiency and minimize risk

Required Skills/Knowledge:

  • Minimum 5 years' HR operations compliance and governance experience

  • Minimum 4 years' experience managing a team of 3 or more HR professionals

  • Minimum 3 years background check program management experience

  • Proven experience as a process-oriented HR Operations Manager or similar role

  • Solid understanding of employment laws and regulations

  • Demonstrated knowledge of consumer and data protection rules related to people data

  • Problem solving mindset with strong critical thinking and analytical reasoning skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills including ability to build rapport, establish relationships, influence and partner with stakeholder across all levels and departments

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to exercise discretion with confidential information

  • Ability to multi-task in an extremely fast paced environment

  • Outstanding interpersonal relationship building and employee coaching and development skills

Education: Bachelor's Degree required; HR major preferred.
