Position Summary:

This position will work with members of the Strategic Communications group to assist with the preparation of background materials and correspondence for senior executives. The ideal candidate will have specific experience drafting and editing communications materials, excellent attention to detail and writing skills, and a background in communications or journalism. This position reports to the Corporate and Constituent Communications Lead.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the preparation of background materials for presentations, panels and other speaking engagements by senior executives

  • Help support the monitoring and creation of electronic hard-copy correspondence for senior executives

  • Manage a database of historical league messaging and quotes

  • Provide copy-editing assistance as needed within the Communications department and to other departments

Required Skills/Knowledge:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in communications

  • General knowledge of the NBA and basketball

  • Exceptional writing skills

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Experience formatting on Microsoft applications

  • Ability to multitask, prioritize projects and meet deadlines while working with speed and accuracy

  • Motivated self-starter who can work independently as well as in a team environment


  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in communications, journalism or a related field

Salary Range:

  • $60,000 - $65,000
