Daytona International Speedway is a state-of-the-art motorsports facility and was awarded the SportsBusiness Journal’s prestigious Sports Business Award for Sports Facility of the Year in 2016. Daytona International Speedway is the home of "The Great American Race” – the DAYTONA 500. Though the prestigious season-opening NASCAR Cup Series event garners most of the attention – as well as the largest audience in motorsports - the approximately 500-acre motorsports complex boasts the most diverse schedule of racing on the globe, thus earning it the title of "World Center of Racing." Among the nine major weekends of racing activity are the Rolex 24 At DAYTONA, the DAYTONA Supercross, the DAYTONA 200 motorcycle classic and the Coke Zero Sugar 400. Rarely a week goes by that the Speedway grounds are not used for events that include track tours, concerts, civic and social gatherings, car shows, photo shoots, production vehicle testing and police motorcycle training.
Manage business and event related tasks for the Southeast Region, while organizing and coordinating office administration and procedures. This position is ideal for an energetic professional who does not mind wearing multiple hats, is experienced in handling a wide range of administrative and executive support related tasks and able to work independently. Well organized, flexible and enjoys the administrative challenges of supporting a wide range of duties.
Support Track President with calendar and meeting management, all-employee meeting logistics, driver/industry gifts, ordering/communicating/distributing employee shirts/uniforms, and other duties as assigned.
Provide general administrative and office support to the SE Region team, including: sorting and distribution of incoming mail, outgoing mail support, expense reports, invoice submissions, meeting and travel arrangements, office supplies, and other tasks as assigned.
Lead on the following for Rolex 24, Speedweeks, Bike Week and Coke Zero Sugar 400 (other SE Region events as assigned)
VIP compound management and logistics
Track President & Prospecting Suite guest list, invitations, passes and hosting
Liaison to Checkered Flag Committee (CFC) and responsible for coordination of CFC/DIS events, meetings, trips, etc.
Organize and assist with planning/execution of Founding Partner Council events and meetings
Facilitate corporate activities that take place both inside and outside of the workplace, such as holiday parties, conferences, team building, etc.
Manage golf cart orders for SE Region team and Partners during events
Process full time new hire paperwork or employee changes as directed by Track President or Regional Vice President.
Work closely with other departments within the SE Region and NASCAR including Event Experience, Sales, Partnership Services, Special Events, Marketing Services, etc.
Assist with Special Projects as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or similar field (preferred)
Two-plus years working in a professional setting
One year or more event experience (sports industry preferred)
Demonstrated relevant work experience may substitute for some requirements
Proficient computer skills including Microsoft applications and programs such as Workday
Detail oriented with ability to adapt to a fast and changing work environment
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently
Ability to communicate effectively through excellent verbal, written and listening skills
Available to work flexible hours including weekends, holidays and evenings
Friendly and courteous to internal and external constituents
Trustworthy and able to use professional discretion with sensitive information
Maintain a professional work ethic, attitude and appearance at all times
Position requires some travel to regional tracks throughout the year
