Home to NASCAR’s Championship Weekend, Phoenix Raceway has been the premier motorsports venue in the Southwest since 1964 and hosts two NASCAR race weekends each year. In March, the Ruoff Mortgage 500 NASCAR Weekend kicks off the race season at Phoenix Raceway, featuring the NASCAR Cup Series, NASCAR Xfinity Series and ARCA Menards Series. In November, champions will be crowned in the NASCAR Cup Series, NASCAR Xfinity Series, NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and ARCA Menards Series West. Phoenix Raceway also hosts a variety of events throughout the year, including corporate meetings and conferences, charity events, holiday events, sport and endurance competitions, driving schools and Segway tours.

Summary

Plans, installs, maintains, implements improvements, and repairs electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures while ensuring that work is in accordance with relevant codes. This role will also assist with general overall maintenance of the facilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following.

  • Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.

  • Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.

  • Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.

  • Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.

  • Perform ongoing assessment of and advise management as needed of electrical needs and improvements

  • Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and amp meter, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.

  • Oversee and implement, at the direction of the Facility Manager, all new and modified installations with electrical implications

  • Operate equipment as directed to assure goals and objectives of the track facility are being met

  • Maintains public address system, network system, TV and cable systems and all electrical-related items that are imperative for the ongoing operation of the track, including, but not limited to, major events.

  • Communicate with staff members (administrative and track) to assure that all department needs are being met in this respective area, with a special emphasis on pre-event planning.

  • Knowledge of Electrical code and pipe bending.

  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair motor controls and fire alarm system.

  • Other duties as assigned.
