NASCAR seeks a talented professional to join in the position of Part Time Coordinator, Medical Liaison.
The Part Time Coordinator, Medical Liaison will be the source of medical knowledge for NASCAR and the point person in the communication process during a medical event.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Ensure track’s compliance with Event Medical Standards per the NASCAR Sanction Agreement and Exhibit-7.
Act as a liaison between the track and/or the hospital medical personnel providing medical care for participants and NASCAR members, in compliance with HIPAA. Report and relay information within designated timeframes. Close gaps in communication and escalate issues at appropriate time and through appropriate channels.
Maintain and ensure accuracy of reports and databases. Assist with recording, tracking, coordinating appropriate care, follow up and assist until resolution. Complete reports in accordance with HIPAA and applicable policy and procedures.
Initiate accident and Worker’s Compensation reports and communicate promptly through appropriate channels.
Ability to network, establish and maintain a consistent positive rapport with coworkers, NASCAR staff, participants, medical providers, tracks, NASCAR partners, and others.
Act as a resource for medical guidance at Events while being HIPAA compliant.
Serve as a medical advocate for NASCAR members and while being HIPAA compliant, alert appropriate personnel of medical concerns that may affect driver or worker safety.
Establishes a service of excellence through high customer satisfaction by displaying attentive, tactful, and diplomatic responses to others.
Assist in office, Drivers Health Fair, and NASCAR Summit prior to start of season, as needed.
Assist with monitoring and responding to office communications, data entry, and event preparations.
Attend and participate in meetings, conference calls, etc. as scheduled each week.
Percent of travel: Approximately 90%, including weekends and holidays.
QUALIFICATIONS
To have and maintain an unencumbered professional Registered Nurse License.
A minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Nursing is required. In addition to the minimum requirement, Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or a related field is preferred.
The Medical Liaison will have a minimum of 5 years of recent experience as a registered nurse in Emergency Medicine and/or Critical Care Transport setting. 3-5 years of leadership experience preferred.
Ability to build strong cross-function partnerships to resolve issues with all internal NASCAR departments.
Identify problems when/before they occur and quickly work to resolve them professionally, respectfully, and efficiently. When the situation deems, coordinate with the team and leadership to contact the best NASCAR representative to rectify the situation.
Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality, particularly surrounding sensitive, and high-profile issues.
Excellent customer service skills, approachable, friendly, positive, and outgoing personality.
Excellent written, verbal, and nonverbal communication skills.
Ability to remain calm while providing effective guidance and decision-making in a fast-paced environment, during a crisis, or in other challenging situations.
