SUMMARY
The Coordinator, Commercial Communications coordinates the day-to-day communications related to: Partnership Marketing, Licensing, Brand Marketing, eSports and other business-related initiatives that may arise at the company and across the sport.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (other duties may be assigned):
Lead earned media efforts on behalf of a portfolio of NASCAR partners that yield placements in top national outlets
Develop / sustain strong personal non-endemic media relationships encouraging coverage of sport
Manage NASCAR Communications’ media monitoring, analysis and news distribution tool, including the internal staffing schedule for the daily earned media newsletter
Mine for and identify rich story-telling opportunities demonstrating to partners and prospects the value of an Official Partnership
Deliver earned media results that are used to help renew Official Partners / attract new partners
Create ways to drive qualitative and quantitative results, beyond just traditional media relations, including social media and digital integrations
Provide communications support for the company’s licensees, marketing and eSports partners; develop and execute strategies that deliver value for partners / licensees
Assist in shaping how, when, in what fashion the company’s “goes to market” in support of business initiatives
Execute strategies / tactics that align with the company's business objectives and deliver "surround sound" that synch up with key moments-in-time for partners
Cultivate relationships with internal business units, external stakeholders and media to advance the company’s business narrative
Assist in preparation of the company’s executives for media interviews and speaking engagements, etc.
Work cross-functionally to lead select, subject-matter experts and, on occasion, a team of IMC personnel on special projects and initiatives.
Approximate travel 5-10%, including weekends.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university and a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in Integrated Marketing Communications, Public Relations, Public Affairs, and/or Marketing, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.
Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style. Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors. Fluency in Spanish strongly preferred but not required.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Basic skills on all Company provided hardware and software. PowerPoint, Excel, MS Word and social media tools and analytical programs.
