The Information Technology Team works together to keep the technical infrastructure humming for the hundreds of Wild and Saint Paul Arena Company employees and also the thousands of fans and guest attending events at the Xcel Energy Center, Saint Paul RiverCentre, Roy Wilkins Auditorium, TRIA Rink and more! Our team is small but mighty!

As our Information Technology Generalist YOU WILL:

  • Keep the technology heart beating. Technology provides the life blood to most progressive organizations. You are part IT doctor and counselor. As you courteously field incoming help requests from end users via both telephone and e-mail, you are able to apply diagnostic utilities to aid in troubleshooting as well as access software updates, drivers, knowledge bases, and frequently asked questions resources on the internet to aid in problem resolution. We are a humble organization and when there is an issue you can’t readily resolve, you escalate problems to the appropriately experienced technician or vendor. Sometimes it takes pulling your sleeves up at the operating table, so performing hands-on fixes at the desktop level, including installing and upgrading hardware and software and implementing file backups. However, keeping our IT infrastructure healthy is just as import as treating it so performing preventative maintenance, including checking and cleaning of workstations, printers, and peripherals will be how you demonstrate the care our systems and people need.

  • Build collaborative bridges. You are the face of the IT team. You are that calming presence as you build rapport and elicit problem details from help desk customers. That “issue” will likely come up again, so you develop help sheets and frequently asked questions lists for end users. As a bridge builder, you work closely with Event Managers to ensure proper event IT execution. You are joining a great team and assisting the management team by collaborating with our part time teammates as well as assisting with our outside vendors with critical projects, strengthens our connection to each other.

  • Obsess over the details. You will be given the time to learn and grow. With all the time and effort you put into helping people, it will be important to document and record your learning, processes, solutions and pitfalls so if another IT teammate runs into the same issue, they can learn from your experience. Exceptional service is paramount, so while you move with urgency, you do so knowing you have tested and double checked your work. You will also follow up with you customers to make sure all is well and they are happy!

  • Ensure we are ready. Hockey games and events are what we are all about and you will need to make sure the show goes on by providing temporary technology services for each event. These services include set up, tear down, onsite event support, pre-sale customer service and thinking on the fly to solve last minute problems.


  • Proficient executor and problem solver. While you provide support for users including desktops, laptops, printers, standard applications, file management and e-mail, you will leverage your information technology education to also participate in larger data and telecom upgrade projects. Communication is key to keep our teams running efficiently.

  • Obsessive Organizer. When things are cooking…they are cooking. Your organization skills are crucial in order to coordinate daily IT tasks including helpdesk services, special projects and maintaining IT inventory. At the same time, you will be proactively researching, assessing and recommending technology improvements for our company. And if that isn’t enough, you need to allow time to ensure event needs are set and ready because the show must go on!

  • Solutions Partner. You are our main point of contact for our internal teammates. They need to know they can come to you for help and trust you with their issues. Whether it is at our 317 headquarters building, Xcel Energy Center, Saint Paul RiverCentre, Roy Wilkins Auditorium, TRIA Rink or Iowa Wild…you are the face of the Wild IT Team.

  • In accordance with the ADA this role requires the stated physical duties. Should an accommodation be requested MSE will evaluate the request and provide reasonable accommodation under accordance of the ADA.

  • Ability to work irregular hours to support events including early mornings, nights, weekends and occasional holidays.

  • Ability to work on feet for multiple hours, be able to lift a minimum of 20 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds, and use a pallet jack.

  • Physical requirements include sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing stairs, kneeling, twisting, lifting, grasping, etc.

  • Knowledge of:

    • PC and Mac hardware and software knowledge

    • Network and server configuration, backup and file recovery administration

    • Cisco switches, wifi, phones and contact centers

    • IT security, virus and malware removal

    • Security systems, digital signage and point of sale systems

    • Certifications in Windows and Cisco technologies preferred
