Our Engineer team works behind the scenes, and plays a critical role in the success of the venues on our campus, which include Xcel Energy Center, Saint Paul RiverCentre, Roy Wilkins Auditorium, 317 on Rice Park, and Tria Rink. This team is responsible for ensuring the effective daily operation of our power units, machinery and mechanical systems, heating/cooling/air conditioning, and fire sprinkler systems in our venues. Additionally, the Building Engineer is a key player in our organization’s commitment to sustainability, by ensuring not only the operation of our systems, but that they are operating in a sustainable manner.

As our Building Engineer, YOU WILL:

  • Ensure a smooth operation. Our venues run 24 hours a day /7 days a week, 365 days a year. Our hockey team, our events, and our employees rely on them. You will operate, maintain, and repair our ice plant, refrigeration equipment, compressors, fan units and manage our building automation system (BAS). Additionally, you will conduct scheduled readings of all of our HVAC systems ensuring we are on top of our game. Your commitment to maintaining all of our facilities systems will result in a comfortable environment for our team, fans, and guests.

  • Solve problems as you see them. Our Building Engineer team focuses on getting better every day and you’re at the center of all we do. We expect that you don’t wait for permission to solve issues, but instead anticipate and identify issues early in order to help us perform at our best. You will be responsible for making minor building repairs as needed, as well as responding to emergency repairs.

  • Provide top notch customer service. Our Engineers are one of many operational departments in our organization. The key to your success does not solely rely on your technical abilities, but also in the way that you deliver service and respond to situations, both with your teammates, other departments and outside customers. Ensuring a positive, professional and speedy response is the expectation across all of our employees.

YOU ARE A:

  • Trusted Advisor. Our Engineer team runs on relationships and often sees, hears and knows many things happening across our campus. Our Engineers must have prior knowledge and experience of boilers, generators, combustion controls, to name a few, to be able to troubleshoot related issues.

  • Strategic Thinker. Our days can easily get bogged down in the details, but you do more than get tasks done. You see problems before they become issues and create innovative, but realistic plans to solve them. With one eye on today, the rest of your focus is always on what’s possible for tomorrow and beyond.

  • Focused Executor. Become a champion in bringing efficiency, accuracy and urgency to daily tasks and processes. Collaborating with your internal coworkers and external vendors is key in executing your plans.

  • Servant Leader. At the Wild, everything we do is grounded in serving. Leadership is not a rank, it’s not about being in charge; it’s about taking care of those in our charge. You inspire those around you to dream more, learn more, do more and become more

THE MINNESOTA WILD WILL:

  • Listen to you. We need your thoughts, ideas, and passion to help make this the best team in sports. You talk, we’ll listen.

  • Treat you like an adult. We will trust you to get the work done in a way that makes sense for you. We measure output, not desk time.

  • Challenge you. We promise you'll be surrounded by people equally committed to the Minnesota Wild. You won’t find more passionate people all focused on creating a Greater State of Hockey. Go Wild!

  • Commit to Diversity, Equity & Inclusion.
