This coaching position will work at the assigned affiliate to advance the club’s use and understanding of available technological and data to improve player performance. The selected individual will manage the application and dissemination of collected information and coaching expertise, working across the areas of Player Development, Advance Scouting, and Performance Science.

Employ evidence-based baseball training that aligns with Brewers Player Development principles
Monitor player performance trends and help synthesize video and data information to affiliate staff to guide development efforts
Manage data collection and written documentation of player development efforts and player-facing feedback loops
Integrate video and data into advance scouting, game-planning, and day-to-day decision-making at the affiliate
Assist with setup and operation of baseball training technology at affiliate location.

Experience or proven interest and understanding of the importance in using data to guide player development efforts
Experience or proven interest and understanding of the importance in using human movement science to guide player development efforts
Experience with baseball technology including or similar to TrackMan, Rapsodo, HitTrax, BlastMotion, Edgertronic cameras, etc.
Ability to throw competitive batting practice and hit fungo bats
Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to form relationships with players & staff while effectively communicating upstream to Player Development leadership
Strong attention to detail and written documentation ability
Professional baseball / softball playing experience strongly preferred but not required.
Fluency in Spanish strongly preferred but not required. Language learning opportunities will be provided by the club.
Education and/or Experience
Minimum of two years related experience and/or training required. Previous experience with a Major or Minor League Baseball organization or collegiate baseball program is strongly preferred.
To perform the job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft office software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and Internet Explorer. Proficiency in SQL is preferred.

Capable of working extended hours such as nights, and weekends, when necessary.
Ability to read, interpret and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. English and Spanish speaking preferred.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and present information to coaching staff.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions, which may include heat, cold and various forms of precipitation. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
The employee must have the ability to travel as a member of the assigned affiliate’s traveling party as dictated by the affiliate’s playing schedule. In addition, the employee may be required to make selected trips by air and must be able to walk significant distances with luggage, board & deplane aircraft.
Work hours will vary dramatically with the assigned affiliate’s travel schedule.
