Do you want to work for a Championship organization? We have the job for you! The Miami HEAT Broadcasting team is seeking to hire a Producer/Videographer, Media Productions! This position serves as Producer/Videographer for all HEAT events and works closely with Basketball Operations covering all team practices and workouts. This role will be the team’s videographer and will build, produce, shoot and edit short and long form video content using standard methodologies in sports television production and electronic news-gathering. Ideal candidate is proficient with Social Media platforms and feels comfortable running a one-man shoot. This position is responsible for operating and maintaining broadcast equipment both in studio and in the field and has a good eye for capturing compelling footage and interviews with players and coaches that will drive great storytelling. This position uses critical thinking and possesses superb editing ability with a keen eye for detail, grammar and style and possesses a deep passion for basketball with a good understanding of music and popular culture and some knowledge about the Miami HEAT, it players and brand.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Works closely with Basketball Operations and covers all team practices and workouts.

    • Stays up to date with HEAT team news, information and history.

  • Manages the development, planning, and production of the team’s video needs, as well as conceptualize content.

  • Produces, writes, shoots and edits short and long format video presentations.

  • Shoots and captures intellectual HEAT images and action sports (basketball) at a variety of events for all HEAT digital platforms.

    • HEAT practices, game action and postgame interviews.

    • Marketing and Corporate Sales Events

    • Studio shoots including chroma key and sitdown interviews

    • Field Location shoots

    • Subject driven features as assigned.

  • Responsible for in-studio and on location shoots including but not limited to transporting, setting up and operating various production equipment including cameras, audio and video recorders, lighting equipment, props, and microphones.

  • Operate ENG Field and Studio equipment including but not limited to: Lighting, Audio, tripod and grip equipment.

  • Manage, preserve and help maintain studio and ENG equipment inventory.

  • Researches and recommends new technology for Video Production and Digital Cinema.

  • Assist Director of Media Production with the day to day operations of the Media Production department and the HEATV Studio.

    • Assists in establishing, implementing and administrating department procedures.

      • Logging and database management

      • Digital Workflows

      • AVID operational procedures

      • Preserving and archiving HEAT history

    • Provides editorial and production support for part time staff.

    • Assist with implementing EVENT Day presentations

    • Assist with implementing footage requests.

      • Serve as liaison with local and national media and assist in providing, distributing and acquiring digital assets as needed or requested.

      • Build VNR (video news releases) and ensure the distribution

    • Assist and ensure daily streaming of selected video content for Internet and Social Media

      • Assist with streaming DAILY content for HEAT.Com and other social mediums.

      • Assist with LIVE Streaming of HEAT and Arena Events scheduled for video webcasting via Tricaster or any other form on HEAT.Com.

  • Required to learn, operate and manage Media Production and Arena Broadcast systems:

    • AVID Media Composer and Interplay Asset Managing System; Glookast Ingest Server; SONY Router; SONY Cameras; Canon Camera and Lenses; Radiant Grid transcoding system; Rimage DVD Duplicating System; KVM System; Intercom System; etc.

    • Apply Arena Broadcast Cabling connectivity: SMPTE fiber; single mode fiber; triax, etc.

    • Required to learn and operate Studio’s Tricaster System

    • Required to learn and operate Lighting Systems.

    • Required to learn Arena’s Camera locations and broadcast cabling connectivity using SMPTE fiber, single mode fiber, triax, etc.

  • Assists with managing and maintaining Music Library

  • Required to technically implement LIVE shots with Talent (talkback interviews or standups) for broadcast transmissions both internally and remotely.

  • Responsible for managing and archiving ENG digital content and video library.

  • Assists with the managing and archiving department’s digital content.

  • Learn and apply NBA’s HSAN fiber system with Aspera Client to exchange files and transmission feeds with NBA Entertainment to access NBA’s Content Share and Digital Media Management System.

  • Required to learn and operate third party software such as: Adobe Creative Cloud, Radiant Grid, Other encoding and compositing software.

  • Required to learn FWI Digital Signage Software and assist with maintaining the HEAT Store Network video playlist fresh with weekly content.

  • Researches and recommends new technology for Video Production and Digital Cinema.

  • Essential to possess basic knowledge of software applications like Excel, Word, Outlook for basic office work; and Photoshop.

  • Essential to have US Passport and be able to travel domestically and internationally.

  • Work extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year university or equivalent technical school training. Crucial to possess 3 years of broadcast production experience in the following areas: videography (video and audio); lighting; field producing; LIVE and remote productions; scripting and writing; non-linier editing and asset management; post production compositing with motion graphics software such as Adobe Photoshop & After F/X’s.
