At the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team, a group of passionate and determined people work to design, develop, manufacture and race the cars driven by seven-time World Champion Lewis Hamilton and rising star George Russell.

The Test & Development Team has a very broad remit within MGP, looking after everything from fixtures used to test out components in R&D, servo hydraulic rigs used to sign off components prior to track use and Pit Equipment required to set-up, run and service the car, both at the factory and the track. We are looking for an IP to support the testing side of our activities, whether it be learning to test some of our components or developing better and more efficient ways to run those tests and analyse the data. Candidate profile:

You will have a strong academic background in a mechanical engineering with excellent investigative skills and sounds attention to details. Knowledge of manufacturing processes as well as some CAD experience would be beneficial. High motivation with a can-do attitude is essential to keep up with the fast-paced nature of this role.

Recruitment timings and process:

Typically, our Industrial Placements are for a thirteen-month period with an anticipated start date of 3 July 2023.

By the time the placement begins, you must have completed a minimum of two years at university, with at least one academic year of study remaining after your placement.

Application is fully online. When you apply you will be asked to upload your CV and cover letter (the preferred format is one single pdf file). You will also complete an online application form including details of your academic study and relevant experience. Following your application, you will be emailed links to our online testing. The Hiring Manager will review your application and test scores and if successful you will be invited to attend a short video interview. The final stage will be an assessment centre to be held in late October / November. This may be virtual or in person. Due to the volume of applications, we only provide feedback to candidates who are invited to the final stage.

When shortlisting applications, we are looking for relevant university subjects such as Mechanical or Automotive Engineering.
