The Coordinator, Activation will assist in all aspects of the marketing partnership activation and account management process for the Memphis Grizzlies, FedExForum, Memphis Hustle and Grizz Gaming. This individual will focus on the scheduling, logistics, execution, and reporting of benefits for assigned partner accounts and should possess strong client relations skills, creative problem-solving talents, event and logistics planning abilities, and the ability to manage multiple accounts simultaneously.

Additional responsibilities will include interdepartmental process management, working with the Sr. Manager, Activation on department specific projects, and direct assistance in the sales and research / assessment processes for marketing partners throughout the contracted term.

In This Role You Will

  • Coordinate activation strategy for Memphis Grizzlies, FedExForum, Memphis Hustle and Grizz Gaming initiatives.

  • Maintain day-to-day contact, fulfillment and renewal of assigned portfolio of corporate partners with a focus on planning, execution, measurement and potential upsell opportunities.

  • Gain understanding of assigned partners’ goals and objectives as well as key metrics to enable active participation in the development of compelling, creative, and measurable marketing and activation programs that maximize the partnership value for the partner and the team by managing expectations, and communicating timelines.

  • Lead the planning and execution of all assigned partners' contractual elements, including traditional media assets, in-market promotions, in-arena activation, hospitality, experiential, and community programs.

  • Ensure the smooth and seamless delivery of all contracted benefits, anticipating stakeholder needs along the way.

  • Provide input during ongoing review and improvement of the way in which partners are approached, activated, monitored and renewed.

  • Organization and proper archiving of legal documentation and with financial reporting.

  • Monitor program effectiveness against partner objectives by working with analytics to set KPI’s and provide campaign reporting/recaps and measurement at various times during the season including monthly, mid-season, and year-end.

  • Use a variety of methods and resources to creatively engage with and enhance partner rapport, using industry knowledge to overcome challenges, create business opportunities, and exceed company objectives.

  • Conduct on-going education of best practices/trends within industry and idea generation with particular focus on retention of and growth opportunities for current corporate partners, open business categories, new inventory development, and cross promotional/B2B opportunities.

  • Act as host to visiting sponsors and partners at a variety of events.

  • Other duties as assigned.

The Experience You Will Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising event management or related field or equivalent work experience.

  • 2 or more years’ experience with proven track record of managing partnership accounts in sports/brand marketing.

  • Demonstrated organizational and logistics management capabilities.

  • Demonstrated skill in synthesizing data into meaningful insights for persuasive storytelling purposes.

  • High level of business acumen, creative problem-solving abilities, strategic thinking, and professionalism.

  • Takes initiative to complete tasks above the expected standards and is driven to continually improve and learn.

  • Ability to interface with colleagues, senior-level executives, and clients effectively and personably, recognizing the need to adjust communication style accordingly

  • Ability to establish effective client and interdepartmental relationships and drive business objectives.

  • Ability to manage multiple marketing programs and partner accounts simultaneously while demonstrating superb time management skills.

  • Capacity to work a varied schedule to include evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed, as well as multi-task in a fast-paced environment and willingness to travel.

  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written), relationship-building abilities, and attention to detail.

  • Tremendous teamwork and collaborative spirit coupled with the ability to work independently.

  • An endlessly positive attitude, openness to learning, superior work ethic, enthusiastic mindset, and self-starter mentality.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds with or without assistance.

  • Ability to traverse the facility quickly.

Nice to Have:

  • Agency experience is a plus.

  • Knowledge of sports and entertainment, specifically NBA basketball.
