Our aim is to develop the best Aerodynamics department in F1. We are looking for a talented engineer to join us in achieving that aim and support the development of current and future championship challengers.

This role’s primary focus continues to be on delivering aerodynamic performance to the race car through our development process, taking on responsibility for larger car areas and flow structures. It would ideally suit a current F1 Aerodynamicist who is looking to expand their learning and take on more responsibility.

Role Dimensions:

  • Sits within an Aerodynamics development group, reporting to a Principal Aerodynamicist and guided by an Aerodynamics Project Leader.

  • Some flexibility in working hours is required (some evenings and weekends), including wind tunnel shift work as per agreed rotation

Key Accountabilities:

  • As a Senior Aerodynamicist you will continue to build on your Aerodynamicist role - delivering your own projects through the design, CFD and wind tunnel test process – while taking on increasing responsibility for the management of more significant aerodynamic targets, flow structures and car areas.

  • Your expertise will allow you to contribute to collaborative discussions about whole-car performance, building your understanding of our wider development directions and philosophy.

  • You will share your experience and skills to help develop the whole group, supporting less experienced colleagues and helping to raising the level of aerodynamic understanding within the team, while also playing your part in the continuous improvement of our tools and processes.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • A degree in engineering or other STEM subject.

  • Experience in F1 aerodynamics with particularly sound knowledge of the F1 wind tunnel testing environment and use of CFD, and excellent knowledge of flow physics around an F1 car.

  • Good data analysis skills

  • Good CAD design skills

  • Experience of planning and organising aero projects to pre-agreed targets, working collaboratively with other team members.

Personal Attributes:

  • A team player with a collaborative style, but also with the initiative to make your own decisions and work with minimal supervision.

  • Able to work under pressure.

  • Good skills in effective communication.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and an analytical approach, with attention to detail.

  • Aptitude to learn from, and share knowledge with, others.

  • Flexible approach to working hours.
