The Purpose:

The purpose of this role is to manage software programming and development, as well as providing fixes and software support for an internal system.

The role will operate as part of the Club’s overall IT function, but day to day will collaborate with other internal departments within the club to support wider programmes.

The Role:

  • Be totally hands on and provide quality software development/programming (design & code) on the systems, covering all aspects of the systems from back office to user front end.

  • To provide the necessary quality testing on all software developed. This will include assisting with UAT.

  • Work with key stakeholders to log, assess, evaluate, track and deliver all development requests and changes from the requirements assessment stage to go live.

  • To log, assess and track and deliver all software bugs and fixes.

  • Ensure proper and fit for purpose version control and software releases are in place.

  • Communicate the status of all key developments on a regular basis to key stakeholders.

  • Ensure software development documentation is fit for purpose, in place and is kept up to date.

  • Maintain and improve a “best practice” development culture and where possible raise the standard.

  • Ensure all best practice and latest IT Security practises are being adhered to.

  • Look to continually improve efficiency and reliability of system and discuss this with key stakeholders.

The Person:

  • 3 years+ development experience

  • Experience of delivering software development projects of a medium/large scale

  • Experience of working in a structured software development environment

  • Relevant software development/programming qualifications and experience

  • A strong technical background

  • Excellent understanding of web technologies

  • In depth knowledge and experience of software development methodologies

  • Strong business and technical analytical skills

  • Experience of system integrations

  • Proven experience of stakeholder liaison

  • Experience of working in high standard customer service driven organisations

  • Experience and sound practical knowledge of business systems and processes

  • Azure Experience (App Services, Tables, Queues etc…)

  • Web Components
