Please note this is a maternity cover, fixed term contract for 12 months

The role holder will provide technical support to their assigned business areas in order to develop, diagnose and design technical solutions from the initial planning phase to the implementation phase in order to meet the needs of their key stakeholders.

Role specific accountabilities:


Provide technical service support across the business by translating technical concepts and requirements into actionable delivery plans in order to provide solutions which meet the needs of the business.

Planning & Organising

Manage the delivery of development sprints and technical solutions across allocated business areas either as an individual contributor or through a small specialist service delivery team to ensure high quality technical delivery.. Develop project roadmaps to ensure clear communication with client, ensuring agreed priorities are met and delivered out to a high standard

Comms & Influence

Influence, challenge and support business areas within CFG through the appliance of strong technical knowledge. Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders (IT, Digital Team, Football Education) and vendors in order to deliver technical products and solutions that meet the clients’ needs.

Problem Solving

Contribute to the development of broader functional IT plans, solutions, and processes in order to design and document secure and robust technical architecture for any new solutions required.


Agile delivery of a large suite of policies and procedures, applying the right solution based on judgement and expertise.

Decision Making

Delivery of technical solutions with minimum supervision; guided by the role holder’s professional experience, judgement and expertise.


Oversee the launch of technology solutions in client’s business areas, always bearing in mind the end goals of the division & wider organisation.

Role specific knowledge, skills and experience:


  • Experience of developing and delivering ‘consumer’ products in an Agile environment

  • STEM Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

  • Good grasp of technical systems and architecture including working with databases and APIs.

  • Proven track record of managing relationships with business stakeholders

  • Knowledge of Functional Analysis, Portfolio, Change, and Business Relationship management

  • Great written and personal communication skills

  • Problem solving & Analytical skills

  • Strong data analysis, visualisation and reporting skills

  • Good communication skills


  • Computer Science or Software engineering

  • Previous experience of technical development and / or development methodologies

  • Product owner experience

  • Sports industry experience

  • Project management experience

  • Vendor management experience

  • Strong business acumen
