Fan Experience Analytics and Insights is central to City Football Marketing’s global growth plan. Building fan loyalty, growth and monetisation across all territories through understanding of their behaviours and needs.

You will leverage industry leading cloud-based data platform (built in house) that allows us to benefit from the current state-of-the-art technology such as machine learning, AI and big data. You will help monitor this platform, checking pipelines in Azure Data Factory to ensure these are running efficiently, resolving issues and aiding in releases to production.

We are looking for someone who is willing to learn and interesting in developing an understanding of data governance, release processes and modern software development principles. The ideal candidate may have a data engineering background with an interest in learning new technology, or a data analysis background with cloud experience.

Role specific accountabilities:

  1. Designing, constructing, testing, and maintaining data architecture

  2. Aid in releases to production for end-to-end data pipelines

  3. Constructing and generating infrastructure to allow big data to be accessed and analysed

  4. Transforming raw data from nested file formats to structured tables for analysis

  5. Working with analysts and data scientists to assist in data and platform technical issues

Role specific knowledge, skills and experience:


  • Experience with enterprise cloud services (especially Microsoft Azure)Comfortable in writing code and efficiently working with large datasets

  • Knowledge of modern SW development principles (DevOps, CI/CD, MLOps)

  • Experience in ETL data transformation - pulling data from a source system, transforming it from raw, messy data to structured data for analysis

  • Worked in a data role in an analytical or engineering capacity

  • Ability to use high-level scripting language (e.g. Python, PySpark, R) on a daily basis


  • Experience with software engineering best practices like version control and CI/CD across environments

  • Consulting mindset, i.e. ability to guide business stakeholders through analytical insights to drive business value

  • Experience with agile development methodologies
