Sr. Counsel, Legal, Business Affairs
This position will primarily support Major League Soccer’s media, productions and content distribution teams, including supporting MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.
Responsibilities
Manage and maintain legal contract templates, including for production agreements, content licensing agreements. talent agreements and local/radio broadcast agreements.
Assist (under supervision of MLS attorneys) with preparation, distribution and execution of high volume of legal documents based on contract templates.
Review MLS produced content to evaluate compliance with content guidelines established by the League and its partners.
Prepare contract redlines, analysis, summaries and charts.
Track status of pending and completed agreements and maintain contracts database.
Create training materials and PowerPoint training decks for MLS and Club attorneys.
Perform special projects and other assignments.
Qualifications
3+ years of experience at law firm and/or corporate legal department
Bachelor’s Degree
Paralegal certificate (or similar credential)
Required Skills
Detail-oriented and self-motivated with outstanding organizational and analytical skills
Excellent written and verbal communication
Ability to proofread material for grammatical or spelling errors
Sound business judgement, and flexibility/adaptability to prioritize, organize, manage and complete time sensitive matters without sacrificing accuracy
Ability to work on multiple projects and meet deadlines
High level of commitment to quality work product and organizational ethics, integrity and compliance
Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, team environment
Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Desired Skills
Spanish and/or French language skills (business proficiency)
Experience with media, production and content distribution
Knowledge and interest in the sport of soccer
Total Rewards
Starting Base Salary $65,000 - $75,000. MLS/SUM base salaries are contingent upon several factors including individual qualifications, market financials, and operational business needs.
