Major League Soccer is the top-flight professional soccer league in the United States and Canada and began play in 1996, shortly after the U.S. hosted the 1994 FIFA World Cup. Now in its 24th season in 2019, MLS continues to grow at an explosive rate, as the league features record-breaking attendance and consumption, an influx of dynamic players and 20 soccer stadiums. MLS has doubled in size during the past decade and now has 27 clubs, including future teams in Miami, Nashville and Austin that will begin play in the next few years. One more expansion team will be added in the coming years, elevating MLS to 28 clubs!
This role is encouraged to support the business operations in Canada and is passionate about Major League Soccer, which continues to grow its influence in the domestic and international sports community. The Marketing Manager is responsible for handling MLS Canada’s corporate partner accounts, supporting day-to-day business operations and leads all CRM efforts.
Responsibilities
Fulfills contractual assets of partner agreements, support game-day programming and monitor sponsor promotions
Helps with broadcast-partner integration and media plan development
Leads the broadcast activation of the League and supports the activation of our Canadian Clubs
Maintains weekly status reports and communicate recaps following internal and external partner meetings
Research relevant topics related to partners, partner competitors and general soccer and sports marketing industry
Ensure fulfillment of special requests by partners
CRM lead for MLS Canada
Conducts prospect partner research to generate leads
Helps with financial reporting and tracking specifically
In charge of all invoicing and payments to partners, agencies, and internal budget shifts
Leads hospitality logistics for current and prospect partners
Supports MLS Canada team on travel and meeting logistics
Leads initial light outreach to corporate Canada
Provides business support to GM, Canada
Builds and sustains relationships cross departmentally

Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree
1-3 years of experience in entry-level Marketing role
Ability to work against both ambitious individual and department goals
High level of dedication to quality work, organizational ethics and integrity
Demonstrated decision making and problem-solving skills
Outstanding organization, project management skills and attention to detail
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbally
Ability to travel and to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Desired Skills
Basic knowledge of the French Language
Outstanding PPT skills and command of visual design and storytelling principles
Knowledge of the sport of soccer
Starting Base Salary: $75,000.00 – $85,000.00 CAD. MLS/SUM base salaries are contingent upon several factors including individual qualifications, market financials, and operational business needs.
