In September 2021, Liga MX and Major Leagues Soccer (“MLS”) announced the expansion of Leagues Cup in 2023 to an annual 4-week tournament featuring all Liga MX and MLS clubs. Leagues Cup is an official Concacaf competition, and the top three finishers receive spots in the Concacaf Champions League with the winner advancing directly to the round of 16. Leagues Cup is the first and only officially sanctioned multi-country club competition in the world which represents an extraordinary opportunity for Liga MX and MLS to build one of the most unique and exciting club tournaments in the world within the Concacaf ecosystem, while accelerating the growth of soccer in the United States.

We are looking for a highly entrepreneurial individual to manage the marketing and match promotions for Leagues Cup events.

Individual will lead and manage the execution of marketing strategies for the promotions and activities. This role will act as a key collaborator in the marketing initiatives to enhance event revenue opportunities. Individual will work closely with the International Match Business team to ensure consistency across the function.

Responsibilities

  • Execute overall marketing and strategy around all events in collaboration with Liga MX and MLS; Drive internal media buying process across the organization incorporating multiple partners including digital, broadcasting and brand development

  • Implement event advertising strategy, including the placement of omni-channel media; radio, television, print, online, and out-of-home

  • Enhance campaign strategies with data acquisition opportunities and build out CRM prospects around assigned events

  • Create and implement grassroot marketing and promotional activities in key markets for sales and marketing initiatives (street teams, mascot/trophy tours, legend appearances, etc.)

  • Support the development of new marketing platforms with a focus on opportunities to support fan development and commercial partners

  • Coordinate and implement in-market influencer and content media plans (ticket giveaways, digital sweepstakes, brand promotions, etc.)

  • Manage promotional inventory and lead all aspects of general office duties (invoice processing, creative requests, collateral/presentation design, promotional orders, shipping, etc.)

  • Produce post-match marketing recap and analysis

  • Additional responsibilities as required

Qualifications

  • Fluency in English and Spanish (business proficiency; both written and oral)

  • Digital marketing Pay-Per-Click campaign management experience preferred, strong understanding of Google AdWords, Google Analytics, and Facebook/Meta Ad Manager

  • Proficiency with creative development platforms (e.g., Photoshop, InDesign)

  • Expert PowerPoint skills; ability to translate strategic concepts to presentations, overview reports, promotional recaps, etc.

  • Experience working with and leading production and creative agencies

  • Ability to travel and to work non-traditional hours

Total Rewards

Starting Base Salary: $70,000 – $80,000. MLS/SUM base salaries are contingent upon several factors including individual qualifications, market financials, and operational business needs.
