Our next generation data platform will enable the fans to have the best experience with Major League Soccer with personalized content and offerings through sophisticated analytics. This position will contribute to developing future of our data platform at MLS by using powerful cloud platform capabilities.
This is role responsible for building scalable data solutions that crosscuts data engineering, architecture and software development fields. You will be accountable for design and implementation of cloud native solutions for data ingestion, processing and compute at scale.
Responsibilities
Design, implement, document and automate scalable production grade end to end data pipelines including API and ingestion, transformation, processing, monitoring and analytics capabilities while adhering to best practices in software development.
Build data-intensive application solutions on top of cloud platforms such as AWS, using innovative solutions including distributed compute, lake house, real-time streaming while implementing standard methodologies for data modeling and engineering.
Work with infrastructure engineering team to setup infrastructure required for efficient extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using AWS technologies.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or related field required.
8+ years related experience with track record of shipping production software.
Hands-On experience building and delivering data solutions in AWS platform (AWS certification is a plus)
Proven CS fundamentals with experience across a range of fields, with one or more area of deep knowledge and experience in a sophisticated programming language.
Working experience of distributed processing systems including Apache Spark.
RDBMS, NoSQL DBs and object storage systems.
Hands-On Experience with at least one of the following in each category:
Infrastructure as code: AWS CDK, Terraform
Orchestration and Transformation: AWS step functions, AWS glue Airflow, Dagster, Prefect, dbt
Streaming: AWS MSK, Kafka
Container: AWS ECS, EKS, Fargate, K8
Observability: AWS Cloudwatch, Grafana, Prometheus, ELK stack
Deep understanding of best software practices and application of them in data engineering and devops.
Familiarity with data science and machine learning workflows and frameworks such as AWS sagmaker.
Work independently and collaborate with multi-functional teams to complete projects.
Lead integration of technical components with other teams as vital. High-level of commitment to a quality work product and organizational ethics, integrity and compliance
Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, team environment
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing
Demonstrated decision making and problem-solving skills
High attention to detail with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Total Rewards
Starting Base Salary: $115,000 – $165,000. MLS/SUM base salaries are contingent upon several factors including individual qualifications, market financials, and operational business needs.
