Major League Baseball (MLB) is seeking to fill a Senior Director, Digital Marketing Technology & Operations position in the Marketing Department. This person will be primarily responsible for managing and maintaining MLB Marketing’s AdTech/MarTech stack and overseeing high performing digital marketing operations teams.


  • Serve as the senior technical resource for MLB’s Marketing Department.

  • Own the technical relationship with MLB’s advertising and marketing technology partners (marketer/buy side) and actively work to identify new business opportunities and processes.

  • Lead, manage and execute all implementation/integration activities with MLB’s marketing technology platforms: Paid Media Channels, Data Collection & Audience Segmentation, Reporting & Analytics, Creative, Email, Ad Server, Tag Management, Workflow Management, Brand Safety Technologies, etc.

  • Focus on technology adoption/testing to increase efficiencies across all paid media channels.

  • Assist with technical feasibility, implementation approach, deployment strategies, and QA efforts.

  • Responsible for forward-thinking strategy and approach for Marketing Technology trends

  • Lead evaluation and roadmapping of products and tools to align with fan engagement and growth goals; drive RFP process to evaluate and select best-in-class tools

  • Collaborates with teams across MLB to maximize investment in tools

  • Collaborate with Marketing Analytics, Performance Media, Data Engineering, Product, Technology, Front End Web Development and other internal teams to translate business goals into technical strategy and roadmap.

  • Oversee the Advertising Technology & Operations team responsible for day-to-day ad serving maintenance, ad trafficking and site tag management.

  • Oversee the AdTech/MarTech budget management including forecasting and tracking expenses.

Job Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Minimum 10 years AdTech/MarTech experience (working with Digital Advertising and Marketing Technologies, Project Management, Programming)

  • Strong leader with experience building teams and developing talent

  • Experience building a tech stack with multiple SaaS platforms.

  • Knows the marketing technology landscape well, and the product players in it, along-with their capabilities.

  • Wears a strategic hat and also understands the end-to-end digital marketing tactical execution flow from lead gen, engagement, conversion to retention to achieve MLB organizational and marketing goals

  • Experience and subject matter expertise in marketing leading solutions such as Google Marketing Platform, Adobe Experience Cloud, Zeta Global, etc.

  • Has extensive experience building and presenting marketing platform POVs, assessments, business case decks.

  • Working knowledge of HTML, JavaScript and SQL.

  • Experience scaling and scoping large and small digital technology focused projects

  • Ability to simplify complex technical processes for presentation to non-technical audiences

  • Comfortable working with large datasets

  • Strong knowledge in campaign management, optimization, 3rd party ad serving and trafficking.

  • Strong communicator and collaborator with Product and Engineering team

  • Flexible, personable attitude; team player with the ability to develop cordial, professional relationships with all levels of MLB staff and partners
