Work closely with the Project Manager, World Baseball Classic to administer the execution of tournament operations for the 2022 World Baseball Classic Qualifying tournaments and the 2023 World Baseball Classic Main Tournament. Support in the planning, financial management, development, and execution of tournament operations across all venues. Support with the development and maintenance of tournament documentation including operational plans, maps, schedules, manuals, contracts, budgets, etc.

Essential Functions:

World Baseball Classic Operations

  • Provide support to the Project Manager with the oversight of all things related to Federation logistics and WBC Team Coordinators. Duties and responsibilities to include assistance with the hiring process, onboarding, training, on-site management, pre and post event reporting, Federation operational planning., etc.
  • Support the development and maintenance of detailed event management documentation including manuals, schedules, equipment and material procurement lists, operational checklists and budgets.
  • Support the operational oversight across entire WBC Tournament to ensure all procedures meet world-class standards. Areas to include admin & management, baseball operations, business operations, and event operations.
  • Play a key on-sight operational role in delivering the Tournament. May include a leading role in a ballpark or logistics function in a domestic (US) or international venue.


  • Provide support with the identification, management and use of event management systems (internal applications, online tools, and third-party software as appropriate) that increase efficiencies, promote good communication, and drive best practice adherence.
  • Work closely with Project Manager on ballpark operational planning for all WBC venues.
  • Coordination and execution of additional MLB Global Events, as needed.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum of 5+ years managing events including responsibility for ballpark operations, project management, budget management, event planning, coordination of multiple groups and stakeholders, and contract negotiation
  • Broad understanding of sports business and the event industry and a strong knowledge of event industry best practices
  • A collaborator with strong interpersonal skills and problem-solving capabilities, used to working at a fast pace and on multiple concurrent projects
  • Passionate, methodical, flexible, highly productive and very detail orientated
  • Excellent written and presentation skills
  • Spoken and written fluency in Spanish, and / or other languages preferred
  • Experience operating events internationally, outside of the United States, is preferred
  • Position will require extensive travel and frequent work on weekends
  • Position may require ability to lift large, heavy boxes upwards of 40 lbs.

Education Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree required; Graduate degree a plus.
