The Part-Time Editorial Producer is responsible for creating content and maintaining websites for YES Network, USA Baseball, MLB Network, MLB Draft League, Appalachian League and more. Part-Time Editorial Producers work closely with partner representatives and writers to ensure that the sites provide users with the most relevant, informative and interesting content possible. They also work on other longer-term projects on properties managed by the Digital Initiatives group.

Responsibilities

  • Edit and produce content for use on partner websites

  • Write headlines, captions, blurbs

  • Select and crop photos

  • Manage overall presentation, making judgments on story significance and arranging content

  • Assist with the design, build and launch of MLB club microsites, which includes sites for community, events and youth baseball initiatives

  • Communicate with editorial and multimedia teams to ensure that all content is properly placed

  • Opportunities to contribute writing may be available

  • Position will include night and weekend shifts

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Strong copy-editing skills

  • Basic knowledge of HTML and web publishing

  • Ability to multi-task and work in a time-sensitive environment

  • Organized, detail-oriented individual with strong work ethic

  • Familiarity with journalistic practices and AP style

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills

  • Thorough knowledge of sports

  • Experience with Photoshop
