Major League Baseball’s Social Media team is looking for someone with experience within the landscape of sports social content to join our social media editorial team. This role will publish content to MLB’s official and boutique social media accounts. This is an hourly, part-time position.


  • Publish content across MLB’s portfolio of Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube accounts

  • Work in tandem with various other verticals of the social media department to ensure best practices are followed

  • Write and edit captions with the mindset of the messaging coming from the official voice of Major League Baseball

  • Cover day-to-day baseball storylines as well as work with other segments of the Social Media team to ideate content for jewel events (Opening Day, All-Star Week, Postseason etc.)

  • Work to specialize content to fit each individual social media platform


  • Demonstrate ability to exercise good editorial judgment

  • Strong understanding of baseball (MLB, its clubs and players) is essential

  • Experience working on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube is preferred

  • Ability to prioritize and balance multiple tasks at once

  • Strong organizational and teamwork skills

  • Proficiency in grammar, punctuation, and syntax

  • Must be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays

Per the NYC pay transparency law, the hiring range for this position is an hourly rate of $24.00 to $31.00. The actual offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your work experience, education, skills and any other factors Major League Baseball (MLB) considers relevant to the hiring decision.
