Position Summary: MLB Network seeks an Audio Engineer with experience operating multiple audio software systems in a live television environment.


  • Provide day-to-day audio mixing for assigned shows.

  • Provide assistance to other Audio Engineers and A2s.

  • Help Sr. Lead Audio and other Audio personnel keep and update show notes and plans for special events.

  • Work with our music system (currently Enco) to manage and edit new music cuts as.

  • Learn and work with the Riedel comms software to become proficient as a comms A1.

  • Train and teach Audio Engineers and A2s in the different shows and workflows of assigned shows.

  • Work closely with the Production department and Studio Operations to manage expectations for day-to-day shows and special events.

  • Routinely test equipment and effects to help ensure proper operation.

  • Occasional travel to domestic and/or international assignments as required.

  • Other such duties as assigned.

It is expected that the Audio Engineer will maintain and increase the knowledge base in the Operations discipline as well as the business on an ongoing basis.

Skills & Experience: The ideal candidate must have most if not all of the following skills and experiences:

  • Must have 5 years of experience in live audio mixing production environment, preferably in news or sports.

  • Hands-on working knowledge of Calrec, Madi, Enco, Riedel, Adam RTS, Lectrosonics, Sankin.

  • This position requires a highly organized, self-motivated individual who can interface with a diverse group of people and situations

  • The individual must work well in a dynamic broadcast network environment, recommend and implement process improvements, work independently, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills, and must be familiar with Microsoft Windows and Office.

  • Ability to regularly work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

  • Ability to occasionally travel to domestic and/or international assignments as required.

  • Ability to sit, stand, twist, and kneel for extended periods of time.

  • Possess the manual dexterity to effectively operate keyboard/mouse on computers, video equipment, etc.

  • Possess the visual acuity needed to effectively create required work products in work environments with varying degrees of lightness and darkness.

  • Possess the auditory acuity needed to effectively create the required work product.

  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds.

Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
