The Athlete Content Manager, Player Marketing is a member of the Player Marketing team, and is primarily responsible for overseeing the creation of custom content for MLB and MiLB players within the Player Social Program to be distributed via player social channels. This role will focus on supporting the players in the Diamond Program, overseeing the Video Content Editors on the Player Social Team, and ensuring that the content we create for players is of optimal quality. This role requires the flexibility to be available nights and weekends throughout the year.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Skills and Qualifications
4 year degree from an accredited university in marketing, advertising, communications, business, or related field, OR equivalent relevant experience
4+ years professional work experience in marketing, advertising, communications or related functional area, preferably with direct experience working with athletes' social media content
Demonstrated knowledge of the latest social media trends, awareness of content performance and an eye for quality vs. quantity in the athlete content space
Ability to create and/or interpret reporting from social media analytics platforms and leverage insights to drive creative decision making
Significant proficiency in written communication (including email and Slack); able to communicate effectively and efficiently
Proficiency with Asana is preferred
Interest and knowledge of baseball specifically is preferred
Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred
Ability to shoot and edit video preferred
Availability to work some nights and weekends in order to meet deadlines and QA game content being distributed to players
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Manages creative oversight of video content production for players’ social media accounts, especially players in an elevated tier of the Player Social Program known as the Diamond Program
Manages a team of video editors who are specifically responsible for creating customized player social media content such as hype videos and highlight reels
Drives player social strategy from a creative standpoint for MLB Player Marketing’s Player Social Program
Organizes creative plans for player content generation for jewel events such as Opening Day, All-Star, Postseason and others
Remains up to date on the latest social media trends, especially as they pertain to the athlete content space, and ensures the Player Social Program is constantly delivering relevant content to our players
Works closely with other members of Player Marketing Team to pull and distribute social media reporting for players we are working closely with
Leverages and interprets reporting and insights from social media analytics platforms to ensure the creative strategy is working, pivots as needed
Plays a central role in QA-ing player social content that is distributed on a daily and nightly basis

Per the NYC pay transparency law, the hiring range for this position is $75,000 to $110,000. As a candidate for this position, your salary and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, skills and any other factors Major League Baseball (MLB) considers relevant to the hiring decision.
