The Los Angeles Sparks are seeking a People Operations, Manager to manage HR duties including talent recruiting, employee onboarding, payroll/benefits operations, talent development, management of employee intranet site and daily HR operations. This position reports directly to the Vice President, Finance and Administration.
Duties and Responsibilities Include
Oversee all job postings and the recruiting/hiring/onboarding process of new employees
Manage employee benefits and administer payroll on a bi-weekly basis for Business and Basketball Operations
Manage and facilitate employee offboarding
Ensure compliance with all workforce & employment laws
Manage the annual performance review process for all staff
Manage and update the employee handbook as necessary
Oversee content of the employee intranet site
Liaison with WNBA in Human Resources related matters
Track and file Employee personnel files
Handle all EDD, Workers Compensation and Family Leave claims
Manage audits on Workers Compensation and Benefit plans
Manage and execute the annual internship program
Qualifications
Minimum 4 years experience in Human Resources operations
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field
Strong knowledge of Federal and California employments laws
Experience working for a professional sports franchise is a plus but not required
Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends
Must be able to work in Sparks Corporate Headquarters (located in El Segundo, CA) a minimum of 4 days a week
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to multi-task
California Compensation Range: $85,000-$95,000, DOE
