Essential Functions (Duties & Responsibilities):
Manage a variety of projects for Lakers’ digital channels, including key tentpoles, season-long campaigns, and corporate partnership series. Oversee completion of content leading into and resulting from such checkpoints (i.e. Media Day), and collaborate with Social Media Manager for distribution.
Develop brand marketing campaigns for key tentpole events such as All-Star voting, historic ceremonies, training camp, etc. Work closely with Social Media Manager to ideate, develop, and launch content specific to campaigns and tentpoles. Responsible for overseeing timeline of such content creation.
Research and develop new opportunities for digital/social marketing initiatives. Work with third parties to execute “one-off” content for key campaigns and tentpoles.
Responsible for collaborating with social team on overall brand strategy and developing a concise, authentic brand identity. Maintain a thorough understanding of fan demographics, franchise history, social voice/tone, basketball knowledge, and other key characteristics.
Collaborate with key stakeholders to help create international social/digital strategy, through use of both global channels and development of language-specific channels. Provide consistent insights and direction to international account managers at home and abroad.
Provide insights and assistance toward day-to-day social management, particularly on corporate partnership content. Closely monitor fan sentiment and developing storylines to provide insights that inform strategy across various touchpoints. When needed, assist in running channels for game nights.
Report on social, digital, and campaign performance through creation of dashboards to be shared with other stakeholders.
Maintain knowledge of industry marketing trends and report on best practices.
Education (Required/ Preferred): Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field preferred.
Previous experience: 4+ years of experience in marketing, social media, or related field. Sports industry experience preferred.

Expert knowledge of all social media platforms
Adobe Creative Suite
Drupal (and other content management systems)
Video editing tools
Microsoft Office (including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint & Windows)
Knowledge, skills, abilities:
Experience in paid social and influencer marketing a plus
Must display strong critical thinking, copywriting, multitasking, and leadership skills
Must have a deep understanding of analytics and how they play a role in overall strategy and creative execution
Physical Demands: Up to over 14 hours of walking and standing on game days
Location: El Segundo (some in-office days M-F), downtown LA (Crypto.com Arena for all home games), away games, plus other occasional off-site events
Hours: This position requires constant attention due to the continuous nature of the news cycle. Regular office hours (9am- 5:30pm M-F), plus overtime when necessary. Must be available to work evenings, weekends and holidays to complete deadlines as needed. Social media and sports are always on, so flexibility and availability are key.
The pay range for this role is $80,000 to $100,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience and certifications.
