Position Overview: Chicago Fire Football Club is seeking a Merchandise Coordinator to join our marketing team. This position will report to our Manager of Retail Marketing & Operations, and will coordinate, organize, and support all activities involved in the identification, acquisition, production, inventory management, and distribution of merchandise items and consumer products for the Chicago Fire Football Club.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Partner with licensed suppliers and adequately order inventory to keep the office, warehouse, and satellite locations properly stocked with fast-moving products to maintain proper inventory levels

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to implement marketing plans to effectively promote merchandise sales through the team’s marketing platforms including, but not limited to email blasts, social media, in-game assets, and media buys

  • Report on operational performance measured against goals to ensure progress is being made and suggest corrective action that may be needed

  • Develop a warehouse/storage plan to ensure easy access and accountability of merchandise

  • Manage merchandising plan for all retail outlets in the stadium and online stores

  • Stay up to date on all MLS licensing regulations

  • Partner with the Manager, Retail Marketing & Operations, to perform monthly inventory reports for the VP of Marketing and provide recommendations on inventory ordering & stocking process improvements

  • Support gift and merchandise needs of other departments

  • Serve as the main point of contact to manage the Fire Pitch facility merchandise inventory on an ongoing basis

  • Assist in the development of programs that result in increased customer satisfaction

  • Operate as a key merchandise team member at home games, maintaining collaboration with stadium vendors

  • Other duties as assigned


  • 2-3 years of experience in a merchandise or retail position, professional sports industry experience preferred

  • Point of sale experience and familiarity with inventory control policies and procedures

  • Proven time management and project management skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Ability to work autonomously and use excellent judgment in escalating issues to supervisors

  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office suite products

  • Ability to work in multiple locations: warehouse, main office, Soldier Field, and other retail venues
