LCFC Women have two exciting opportunities within the Academy. The Club are looking to recruit an assistant coach for the Under-10s and an assistant coach for the Under-12s.

The key duties of the roles will be to provide a high standard of coaching to the respective age groups, educating all players in line with the LCFC Women philosophy and methodology.

Role requirements and key duties

  • Responsible for planning and delivering the technical and tactical coaching programme for the respective age groups in line with the coaching syllabus

  • Delivering both prescribed sessions and your own sessions designed to bring out the desired outcomes. Responsible in ensuring sessions cover team, unit and individual aspects of the game

  • Coach and manage team matches, both at home and away

  • To produce IDPs (Individual Development Plans) for all players, which are to be completed over a set period. Continue to review, amend or set new targets for each individual player based on their development and growth

Who We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will have significant experience in the following:

  • Experience of young player development and knowledge of appropriate technique and skill development practices

  • Previous experience of working within an academy environment

  • A clear understanding of the academy system and the professional football environment

  • An ability to address the different learning styles and can use various methods to cater for all needs

The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following skills and competencies:

  • Ability to plan, deliver and bring about the desired session outcomes

  • Excellent coaching and delivery skills with excellent accuracy and attention to detail

  • Ability to monitor sessions, be flexible, adapt and/or amend session designs to bring about intensity, tempo and free flowing football with quality

  • Ability to effectively manage player, parents/guardians and staff relationships.

Do you have these requirements?


  • Must hold a minimum of Level 2 qualification and FA Youth Modules

  • Holds an in-date FA Safeguarding Children Certificate or is willing to complete the FA Safeguarding Children Course within three months

  • Valid BFAS – Basic First Aid for Sport

  • Full UK driving licence - away travel required along with driving Club team minibus (depending on the team)

In May 2021, Leicester City Women’s Football Club has been promoted to the FA Women’s Super League. From its formation in 2004, the club was run on an amateur and semi-professional basis with support from Leicester City Football Club.
