Leicester City Football Club have an exciting opportunity to join their award-winning Sports Turf and Grounds team working specifically within the Sports Turf Academy.

The role is dedicated to working within the Club’s Sports Turf Academy based at the Club’s new training facility in Seagrave, and offers the candidate an opportunity to assist with the Sports Turf Academy’s overall objective to become world leaders in education of the current and next generation of sports turf and grounds staff.

With a purpose to support the turf industry, from grassroots pitch improvements to the highest profile sporting events nationally and internationally.

About The Role

A new role at the Club, the Sports Turf Academy are seeking a proactive individual, capable of working autonomously and with a focus on continuous improvement, to develop and support the Sports Turf Academy’s administrative functionality. The main objective of the role will be to provide administrative assistance in respect of the Sports Turf Academy’s day-to-day business activities, providing help and assistance to internal stakeholders whilst promoting a professional and reliable service to external contacts.

Main duties may include, but are not limited to;

  • Supporting the Sports Turf Academy and Grounds department in all administrative tasks, ensuring the smooth running of the Sports Turf Academy within the Grounds department on a day-to-day basis

  • Responsible for administrative tasks in a timely, accurate manner and ensure high levels of customer and stakeholder service (internally and externally), both face-to-face and by correspondence

  • Support the development of efficient systems and practices, ensuring Club policies, working practices and processes are implemented effectively

  • Administrative duties including, but not limited to, preparing letters, presentations, reports and information packs. Support and taking minutes for the management team

  • Liaise with Human Resources regarding new starter onboarding and programme of Sports Turf Academy and departmental introductions and monitor new starters’ probationary progress

  • Organise required travel, insurances and accommodation arrangements for Sports Turf Academy staff and Grounds team and including hotels, flights and car hire

  • Support Sports Turf Academy's social media administration for the Sports Turf Academy

  • Generate, organise and co-ordinate Sports Turf Academy events

Who We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, working well under their own initiative, and demonstrate honesty and integrity at all times. Organisational skills for the role are paramount, alongside an ability to multi-task, coordinate, and prioritise a changing workload whilst maintaining a calm and professional service.

Previous experience within office management, administration, or reception/secretarial roles is desirable, whilst it is essential that applicants are computer-literate and have demonstrable skills using Microsoft tools (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook and Powerpoint).
