Security Manager will assist in the day-to-day and event-time operations of the Security Department.
RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:
Scheduling and supervision of full and part-time security personnel
Supervise and develop direct reports.
Production and tracking of Toyota Center ID Badges and tracking of Rockets credentials
Coordination of activities with other departments and outside agencies.
Training of security personnel to include reviewing and updating Post Orders and policies
Oversee the inventory and maintenance of department assets
Assist in the development of plans for events
Traffic planning for major events
Coordination of multi-modal transportation systems relating to major events
Assist guests with security related issues
Carries out supervisory responsibilities for assigned staff in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include: training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing issues and solving problems and regularly communicating with staff.

Excellent written and oral communication skills
Above average working knowledge of Excel, Access and Word program
Knowledge of budgets and budget processes
Bachelor’s Degree preferred
At least two (2) years experience in law enforcement, traffic management, event planning or related field.
Possess or be eligible for a Non-Commissioned Security License
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
Ability to add, subtracts, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
PHYSICAL & MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
The employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk, use handle or feel, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, communicate with others.
The vision requirement includes the ability to review written and electronic materials in both digital and physical format.
The employee must be able to transfer and move items for departmental needs weighing up to 50 pounds.
The employee must be able to adjust to changing work hours and locations as needed including nights weekends and Holidays.
